"If ye seek god, keep ye in the presence of holy men."My father once told me before he died, "When in doubt, do the right thing, as you inherently always know what the right thing is...the question is whether or not you listen to your true self, or your mind...which is not "you" as you might perceive yourself.
Just for fun, think of yourself as a car. Your higher self or soul should be in the driver's seat. Your mind, which is a tool, should be in the engine compartment. The problem is, with most people, our minds are in the driver's seat, and we are riding shot gun, getting driven all over the place by a tool...our mind is just a tool for us to use, NOT who we are. Get it? We need to get our minds back under the hood where they belong...and get back in control of our minds. Don't listen to that voice that is screaming in your head, listen the quiet one, the one that you have to really LISTEN for to hear...THAT is your higher self...the one who already knows all the answers...the one that is wise and just...the one that carries on.
