What is MKJ? It could be one of several things... an acronym to stand for a twelve year friendship between two guys who see humor in everything, the arch-rival of JTM burgers, A Scottish McDonald's restaurant rip-off... but this time MKJ represents a comic series and all the characters within that series. It's not a book per se, but a legacy.
In 1999 Mike and Jarrod started their freshman year of highschool. Already good friends, they had the pleasure of having an English class together. Many of the notes that they passed back and forth were intercepted by a fellow classmate- Velicia. In time, Mike and Jarrod began passing back comics whose sole purpose was to insult Velicia- "You may only open this comic if you're a man..." and so forth. Eventually the comic snowballed and became quite popular in the boys' circle of friends and teachers. Now MKJ comics has become a tangible symbol for the combined humor of two very deranged artists- Michael K. and Jarrod T. of Blanchester, Ohio.
Many of you have seen MKJ comics, and know what sorts of crazy things to expect- for our new readers, this shall be a treat. Please note, that ALL our comics are meant in jest. You have to be able to laugh at yourself or you'll never make it out of life alive. So please keep that in mind even though our comics offend everybody- that is not the intent.
Our goal is to produce a new comic strip every week and post it in a blog for you to view. Please let us know what you think and what you'd like to see! We have eight years of inside jokes and recurring characters, so don't be afraid to ask about anybody or anything if you get lost. We sincerely hope you get a good laugh out of MKJ comics. Readers enjoy!
