Blizz (VA) The Future of VA is Now Mix versatility, strong songwriting ability, trademark vocals, and the hunger to improve each day and you have the makings of the future in hip hop music today. The future has a name, and it's Blizz, Virginia's next up-to-bat. Blizz, born Brian Jackson, was introduced to music at an early age, under the guidance of his father, who was the front man in Ovation, a late 80's early nineties band that ranged from the blues to go-go. Blizz's household was filled with the sounds of various instruments such as bass, trombone, piano, and electric guitar. Despite being exposed to music theory and many of the greats of all genres, hip hop made a deep, lasting impact on Blizz in the early 90's through the revolutionary thug anthems of Tupac Shakur.
His hip hop tastes soon evolved and expanded with the sounds of the original Hot Boys, H-town legend Devin the Dude, and Brooklyn's Finest The Notorious B.I.G., and later 50 Cent all sharing time in his CD player. Blizz began to tune out the voices of his heroes' and started crafting his own sound and expression thru beats and rhymes. His deep, harmonizing delivery began to catch on listeners during his early days of lunchroom cyphers and on-the-spot performances throughout his hometown of Alexandria, VA and around the DC metro area. His talent and preparation was realized during the taping of MTV's Daytona Beach Spring Break 04. He was picked out of the crowd to spit a verse on the spot, and he took the crowd in his palm when he grabbed the mic, which lead to many of the industry heads in attendance to wonder about the unsigned talent from VA.
Soon after Blizz linked up with Ali a.k.a. Network thru a mutual friend at many of the car shows that both had frequented during that time. Their conversations about muscle cars and whips soon turned to music when both discovered each other's involvement in music. The duo had a similar passion for music, shared the same business ethics, and strong work ethic. The decision to form Vishus Entertainment was a natural progression for two men heading in the same direction; straight-to-the-top. The world first heard Blizz on the first commercial Vishus release "Mixtape Vol. 1". The mixtape circulated throughout the U.S., and made its way into the hands of many fans including industry people.
Since that time, Blizz has been in the studio working hard. With several producers looking forward to working with him and beleiving in him and his music, Blizz has a lot on his plate. Holding the title as the "VA BOSS" means you have to be on top of your game. "You have to give the fans out there what they want, you also have to do it for the streetz, and for real for real, you just have to make good music, something people can vibe with." With Blizz focusing on his second album, the second mixtape has been held back for a later release. "Everyone wants Volume 2 so it will be dropped, we have to make sure we out do Volume 1." With a lot of time being spent in the Vishus studio you can only imagine that there will be a lot of material hitting the streets soon enough.
