Bill was born to Siemone and Jörg Kaulitz on September 1, 1989. Though now his parents are divorced his mother remaired.
His stepfather, Gordon Trümper, has had a big influence on Bill with his music. His twin brother, Tom Kaulitz, the guitarist in Tokio Hotel was born 10 minutes before him.
In kindergarten, the Kaulitz twins had shirts with their names on them so people could tell them apart. Over the years they have started to look slightly different.
Bill was only seven when he started writing lyrics. In primary school, he and Tom often threw paper balls and ink at their teachers. Eventually, in Grade 7, Bill was separated from Tom, because they played too many tricks and pranks.
Bill is known for his very androgynous rocker look. He often wears tight jeans, black jackets, rock band tees, and gothic jewelry. He has dyed his hair black ever since he started singing and also wears dark eyeliner.
However, his looks have garnered criticism. His skinny frame has led to people criticising him for portraying a negative image for his fans. His use of make-up has also been called "unnatural." Bill has, however, made it clear that he is simply an artist expressing himself through his music as well as through his choice of clothing.
Bill has kept a majority of his personal life out of the tabloids. His sexuality is a hot button issue amongst his fans. Bill has however stated that he isn´t homosexual, despite rumors that have sprouted up due to his androgynous appearance.
He currently is on the "Zimmer 483" tour through out Europe with the band.

Bill Kaulitz is loved by many girls especially teens from 14 to 19 years of age.
Tom: "Bill is know to be the cutest one of the twins its weird but we really look nothing alike."
The Kaulitz twins have kept a majority of their personal life out of the tabloids. Tom has admitted that he's single and is also the playboy of the group. He claims he doesn't have time for girlfriends. Even though, he has been seen in many photos messing around with all types of girls.

-Bill says he often has the same dreams as his brother.
-Tom and Bill both got their first kiss from the same girl when they were ten, though Bill got it one day later.
-When Bill and Tom both like the same girl, they let her choose.
-He is single; according to him, "Unfortunately... Contrary to his brother Tom, he looks for something steady in girls. Looks don't matter too much to him ("There are so many sweet girls!"): as long as a girl is witty, spontaneous and has a powerful look to her eyes (and preferentially doesn't bite her nails), everything's good.
-Bill would never take girls with him (i.e., for sex) after a concert.
-Bill will flirt, but only with body language.
-According to himself, his tongue piercing isn't a problem when it comes to kissing. I'd still like to try that out, just to make sure.
-Bill was twelve when he got his eyebrow piercing and thirteen when he got the tongue one: both allowed by his parents. However, the tattoo on the back of his neck with the Tokio Hotel logo was made secretly, when he was fifteen.
-Bill spends one or two hours doing his hair everyday.
-Bill is extremely artistic and draws and designs clothes a lot. When he's done in the music business, he expects to become a fashion designer.
-Bill is allergic to mosquito repellents.

Their first single, "Durch den Monsun" ("Through the Monsoon"), quickly gained popularity after its release, appearing on the German music charts at ..15 on 20 August 2005 and reaching ..1 on 26 August 2005; it reached ..1 on the Austrian music charts as well. Their second single was "Schrei" ("Scream"), which climbed to ..5 on the German charts. They released their debut album, Schrei, on 19 September 2005; the lead singer, Bill Kaulitz, wrote most of the songs. In early 2006, their third single, "Rette mich" ("rescue Me"), was released; it reached ..1.

Their first single from Zimmer 483 (Room 483), called "..bers Ende der Welt" ("After the End of the World"), was released on 26 January 2007. It has reached ..1. The Zimmer 483 album was released on 23 February 2007. A deluxe edition of the album also is available. The Zimmer 483 tour was scheduled to start in March 2007, but was delayed by two weeks because the band members wished to use a new stage. However, all of the tickets bought for the tour are still valid.

The video for their newest single, "Spring Nicht" ("Don't Jump"), premiered on VIVA Live on 12 March 2007 and was released on 7 April 2007.

Tokio Hotel's first English album "Scream" will be released on the 4th June 2007 in the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe.

The album was originally going to be released in the United States as well but that decision was revoked and the release will now depend on the success of the album in the UK. The album consists of English versions of a selection of songs from their German Language albums "Schrei" and "Zimmer 483". "Monsoon" will be the first single from the album and is the English version of their very first single "Durch den Monsun".

J..rg Koshorst, A&R for the band at Universal earned the No.15 spot in the World Top 100 A&R Chart at HitQuarters, for signing and introducing Tokio Hotel in numerous countries.

The first single from "Zimmer 483" "..bers Ende der Welt" was recently released under the title of "Ready, Set, Go!" in English. They also recently created a video for "Scream", the English version of the 2005 hit "Schrei". Tokio Hotel has also recently filmed the long awaited video for "Monsoon", which is an English version of the song "Durch Den Monsun".
