About Me
MySpace CodesMy name is Martin Darlan. I am 30 years old. I am born in Karlstad, Sweden. I live in Denmark. I am married. I have two wonderful children / boys. I work as an interpreter. I like to play the didjeridu - have played for six-seven years now.I have been a strong advocate of organic food for many years. The world has been and still is polluted by all kinds of chemicals. A food that is contaminated, will contaminate the one eating it. What will the organic / living food do to you?
I have puzzled over why proponents of chemicals in food and the use of pesticides in the making of food and of course the proponents of GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) all around the world, are so busy trying to convince us how good these foods / products are, when they at the same time don't want to label their products. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Furthermore, cruelty to animals is an ever increasing problem. This has nothing to do with my political standpoint and I am not trying to feed people with propaganda, but this IS such a huge problem, that I think people in general ought to know at least some of the things happening to some of the animals ending up on their dinner tables and in their stomachs. Better not watch the following videos if you don't like the torture of animals, I just want to show some of the ways that some of these poor animals are treated the last moments of their sad lives. Please do think of what you put in your mouths. ------------------------------------------------------------

-Again, DO NOT WATCH these videos IF you are not capable of seeing animals getting hurt in the most horrible ways. I put these videos here, hoping they will make people think some things over. From a slaughterhouse "somewhere" (Iowa) in the United States of America. Terrifying to see what methods are used to make that steak reach the supermarket cold counters. This following video shows how Australian meat cattle and sheep are treated once shipped to slaughterhouses in the Middle East. With this I don't say that this is how things are done in every slaughterhouse in the Middle East. One have to remember that there is a great chance that the meat from these animals are sold as Halal (rightful, legal) meat, even after having been tortured in the most sick and horrifying ways. Something to remember next time you are to buy meat with that "Halal" label on it. The "Halal" label does'nt mean, that the animal was treated well. "Do not make your stomachs the grave of dead animals" ... at least not the mistreated and tortured ones. This is not something only happening in far away countries. It could be that it happens in a slaughterhouse nearby. With this I do not say that this happens everywhere, but I think it is more common than one thinks. Is it that difficult to treat animals with respect? Try to think about how the cow/pig/goat/sheep/chicken/turkey ended its life next time you eat that nice steak.

This is what some people have said on this topic: "For I tell you truly, he who kills, kills himself, and whosoever eats the flesh of slain beasts eats the body of death." (A man named Jesus Christ) ------- "He who causes suffering shall suffer. There is no escape." (Buddha) ------- "I don't like the idea of killing my fellow creatures in order to eat their dead bodies." (George Bernard Shaw) ------- "I became a vegetarian after realizing that animals feel afraid, cold, hungry and unhappy like we (humans) do." (Cesar Chavez)------- "I have from an early age abjured the use of meat and the time will come when men such as I will look on the murder of animals as they now look on the murder of men." (Leonardo da Vinci) ------- "To my mind the life of a lamb is no less precious than that of a human being. I should be unwilling to take the life of a lamb for the sake of the human body." (Mahatma Ghandi) ------- "It is most unlikely that a protein deficiency will result in apparently healthy adults (who are) on a diet in which cereals and vegetables supply enough calories." (Mark Hegsted) ------- "A high animal protein diet, especially an excess of meat, is definitely detrimental to the health and may be a contribution or a direct cause of the development of many of our most common diseases, as shown by recent massive research...The metabolism of proteins consumed in excess of the actual need leaves toxic residues of metabolic wastes in tissues, causes autotoxemia, overacidity, and nutritional deficiencies, accumulation of uric acid and purines in the tissues and intestinal putrefaction, and contributes to the development of many of our most common and serious diseases, such as arthritis, kidney damage, schizophrenia, osteoporosis, artherosclerosis, heart disease and cancer. A high protein diet also causes premature aging and lowers life expectancy." (Dr. Paavo Airola, N.D.)
