About Me

Amanda Lucas
Amanda Lucas is a singer/songwriter from Louisville, KY. Throughout high school and college Lucas played at school dances and other functions. Now, she plays over 100 shows per year at some of the most popular venues/festivals in the state of Kentucky and all across the region. During her first year in the local music scene, she released her debut CD, "Half Empty." (October 2008) Complete with catchy melodies and true-to-life lyrics; Lucas' first release "Half Empty" has a song for everyone, no matter your taste. In September of 2008, she placed 2nd out of 300 entries in a female singer/songwriter competition on the popular website www.ourstage.com.
"Lucas is a solid songwriter and arranger, and she has a really good voice for the material. The songs are all potential hit singles in terms of the hooks. Once again: Louisville has so much hidden treasure. Here is just one more example. This girl has a future in the music business."
-Kevin Gibson, Louisville Music News
“Amanda is a songwriter beyond her years. She writes real life lyrics full of hooks and catchy melodies. She’s the hardest working musician I know, period. Amanda is an amazing “artist” in every sense of the word.”
-Phil Bright, Producer/Engineer/Studio Owner
"Amanda’s energy, raw unflinching lyricism, and powerful pipes quickly made her one of the most in demand artists I’ve worked with. Whether it’s a song writers showcase, with her band, or as a duo with the also incomparable Audrey Cecil, Amanda has become an amazing addition to the local and regional music scenes."
-Joseph Bliss, Local/Regional Booking Agent
Amanda Lucas and Audrey Cecil
Both formerly parts of other bands and solo acts, Amanda Lucas and Audrey Cecil couldn’t pass up the chemistry they found while playing as a duo. Music served as the driving force for the reconnection of these childhood friends after they had been out of touch for over a decade. With their tight harmonies, catchy tunes, and heartfelt lyrics; “Amanda Lucas and Audrey Cecil” have taken their local music scene by storm.
Audrey’s brand of clean guitar playing and ability to find a harmony matches perfectly with Amanda’s strong-as-steel vocal style and knack for creating an infectious rhythm. Along with their on-stage chemistry, Amanda and Audrey have found a wonderful mixture of writing styles to create a strong songwriting force as a duo. Amanda’s pop tendencies and Audrey’s acoustic folk style mesh perfectly to create catchy, well-written tunes.
Amanda and Audrey have shared the stage with national acts like: Garrison Starr, Eric Himan, Nini Camps & Trina Hamlin of the Hamiltons, Tracy Rice, Lindsey Hinkle, Ben Sollee, Brooks Ritter, and countless regional/local artists.
“What a fantastic addition Amanda and Audrey have been to the Louisville music scene. Both incredibly talented musicians in their own right, what they have found as a duo is truly special. With strong original songs filled with intricate harmonies and solid musicianship, they are an up-and-coming duo that is not to be missed. As a lover of great music, it’s truly a luxury to have such a talented pair right here in my backyard. I expect great things for them!”
-Charters Harrison, Founder of River City House Concerts
"When Amanda and Audrey take the stage they quickly draw the crowd in with their engaging stage presence followed by their powerful pop vocals which are wondrously bathed in the light of honest and heartfelt renditions of any song they perform."
-Patty Henry, Louisville, KY Music Photographer
