if i knew you back in the day, if i can play drums with you, if you suggest movies books or music, if you want to be my friend in wilmington, NC...
over the course of my music-listening life, some of my larger crushes have been: ben folds, radiohead, portishead, fat freddy's drop, outkast, indigo girls, every band i've played in, and a million other things. Did i say indigo girls? i'm not sure that's even true. i did see them in concert once...and i went to lilith fair twice...maybe it IS true. what else? john prine, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, the 1997 MLK Pops Ensemble, Sac Lunch, The Carter Administration, Liz Phair, Deathcab for Cutie, The Decemberists, Clannad, Linkin Park (yes, i seriously like their 2nd album, though i agree it looks especially funny coming after Clannad), Garbage, The Bangles, and karaoke the world over.
yes please. good ones. ok, that's way too simple an answer for someone so overly into movies. (but not so overly that i call them 'films'). I like dramas with nice human touch moments. I also appreciate a good sex scene. some movies i've liked lately: Closer, Crash, 25th Hour, Royal Tennies, Garden State, Election, Spanglish, Shortbus, Talk to Her, Lucia y el Sexo, 21 grams, Annie, and about a bzillion others. but sometimes i'm a real snob. 3/5/08 update: what else, yo? Um...I didn't see the big deal about American Gangster. I've never seen Lord of the Rings (but I've been to New Zealand - does that count?). I think Alfred Hitchcock had a knack for putting hoooooooot ladies in his movies. Eternal Sunshine was grand, as were Hoosiers, Shane, True Romance, and some others...
eh. here and there.
i read about 30 books in the past year, but what were they? i have a crappy memory. 03/05/08 - recent ones: Cormac McCarthy's The Road, Blood Meridian, and No Country for Old Men; Robin Hobb's Tawny Man trilogy; Dosteyvsky(sp?)'s Crime and Punishment; John LeCarre's The Perfect Spy; The 1,000 Mile Diet; and some other stuff.
nah. we all just do the best we can.
