In today's rap market it's easy to label any music from the south as disposable music. With the south's over abundance of simplicity, minimal topic range, and lack of creativity the cliche' "people from the south can't rhyme" seems all but true. Yet, this is all set aside when hearing up and coming rapper Ricosuave. Hailing from what he considers to be the 'most beautiful place in the world', Atlanta, Ricosuave is here to make 'recyclable' music.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Ricosuave has seen what the city had to offer from a good and bad perspective. What he saw, he started writing in kindergarten. He was taught how to to write and how to count bars by his auntie. This aunt also influence him to the likes of rappers of all regions. He was first interested heavily in the booty shake music that flooded Atlanta radio in the 90s but began to listen to the lyricism of artists when he discovered Outkast's ATLiens. This is the album that molded him inyo paying attention to the words.He began to write heavily over the years but the songs werent ever put in fruition because he couldnt find able producers.
Ricosuave's music hit a launchpad in 2006 once discovered the music of former high schoo schoolmates' Four Front. Being equally impressed by each other's skills Four Front and Ricosuave mad e great marriage. They also began to get their music promoted through Atlanta's nightlife entertainment group, Da Crew Ent. With their aid Ricosuave produced 'Southern Accent' in Spring 2007 and 'Soul Food For Thought' in early 2008. He promoted these albums through the internet on a zshare link. His latest project 'The Gospel Of Ricosuave' had been produced the same way and has been heavily promoted. With the backing of Four Front and Mel G. (producer) this project is well rounded and sounds excellent.
In Ricosuave's music you hear the influences of Outkast, Cee-Lo, Lupe Fiasco, and Nas on his music. Yet, these mixtures all put out a well dimensioned artist. He has the lyrical ability to catch the attention of music critiics, the distinguishable voice to help him stand out, the subject matter that will entertain, educate, and promote thought, and the personality that shows a clear confidence in his individuality. Simply and plain, he is the whole package..He is the reason why th old cliche' "people from the south cant rhyme" is not true!!! SO watch him as he proves it to the world.
