About Me
We were a pissed off anarcho-crust punk band with lyrics that deal with political, social, and personal issuesHere's the story:
Andy, George, and Joe had a three piece, three chord anarcho-punk band called the Last Rites. The band played non-stop 20 min. sets at the shows. By 2004, the band was burnt out and decided to take a break. Andy got married, Joe was in Better Than You, and George was working at Circle K (a job that he hated like poison). The band felt it best to get back together in 2005 with a new guitar player named R.J. (who used to be in classic bands such as Crackdown, Voice Of Defiance, The Misled, and Tio Torro). The band being redefined (and sounding better than ever), members of the band decided to change the name of the band from the Last Rites to Kriss Kringle (as per George's request because he thought that it would be funny to see four nerds playing anarcho-crust punk music under a name like Kriss Kringle) . Now, some members of the band thought that George needed to have his head examined but the name stuck but the songs remained the same.As for the music, it's described as melodic pissed off anarcho-crust punk in the vein of From Ashes Rise, Atom Kinder, Brother Inferior, and MDC. The influences in the songs are definitely there. Lyrically, we discuss issues such as political injustices, the pointlessness of war, the prison overpopulation of non-violent offenders, child abuse, enviromental concerns, and scene politics. The lyrics also discuss social issues such as depression, mental illness, and betrayl. We are an anti-sexist, anti-racist, anti-homophobic, anti-xenophobic, anti-government, pro-nature, pro-equality D.I.Y.-hardcore punk band. We speak to everyone who doesn't like where the state of the world is heading, both environmentally and politically, who can't help but to feel insulted by today's pop culture, who don't have skeletons in their closet but who keep them out on the foyer to greet their guests, and to those who aren't afraid to be and think for themselves.
We have played a shows with Bodhisattva, Discriminados, Life Crisis, Seveer Tire Damage, and our biggest influence, M.D.C. (Millions Of Dead Cops).
