About Me

... Nachts ist's dunkler als draußen ...
Them changes in the making...
Mr. Lizard, born in Berlin, Germany a very, very, very long time ago has found his way into music by means of torturing the piano at a rather young age ( more info: http://www.pianoforte.ca/peacearchjpg.htm ). At the time it was mandatory, a family tradition so deeply ingrained that there was no escape... That is until 'The Beatles' came along. They changed everything!
Imminent peer pressure led young Mr. Liz onto the path of the electric guitar. Piano just wasn’t in anymore, but he now had a solid foundation of music theory and, he taught himself the guitar. The year was 1966. Whatever music came from Great Britain at the time was to be absorbed and put to use immediately. Besides 'The Beatles' there were John Mayall, The Rolling Stones, then Cream and Status Quo. The influx was abundant, the influences were endless.
Throughout the '70's Mr. Lizard disguised himself as aspiring lead guitarist for the well-known German Rock group 'Badge' in Berlin. The late 1970's were so drug induced that his fellow band members lost eemotional contact to this lost soul and – thanx to Mr. Lizard's overindulgence – the Band eventually broke up. Too bad, really!
A glitch in time and space perpetuated this on-the-blink-of-evil minded spirit to North American grounds, planting his undisputedly soiled root of what is commonly known as 'The Blues' into his now beloved home, Canada… He continues to successfully torment his peers via some rather well-honed and almost vicious attacks using youthfully spirited anomalies and leaning-toward-the-insane acid-loaded arcane pioneer-invented passages in commanding his instrumental tool of choice: The Guitar.
Many moons have passed and as of today we shall be blessed with a continuing plague of Rock'n'Rolled-up-Blues via relentessly penetrating influences of 20th Century music.
Now, about the songs::
This website serves to give you insight of my individuality.
"Mist over Clayton Hill" was created throughout 1990/2 , self-produced with no acoustic instruments except for the maracas. It was an attempt to create a mood, a picture using only synthesizers. The synth-saxophone in '92 was not as good as they sound today. So, don't mind if it sounds more like a duck call. It was a fun project.
"Sitting on top of the world"... It's tremendous fun for me to play songs created by my masters! Bass and lead vox provided by Rick Enns of the 'United Empire Loyalists', a band from the 60's carrying significant importance to Canadian Rock music.
"Little Red Rooster" was recorded in August 07 with 'The Syndicate'. It's just a great Blues to play!
"Bad to be alone" performed by HEAT features none other than my current Lady Lead Singer, Ms. Andi Cooley, one of my favorite vocalists and the coolest redhead in the industry, literally!
"Blue Onions' - you guessed it, a parody... it's what's commonly called 'shredding', using Jamtrax. But, hey, blue onions are better than blue b*lls!
Have a listen and let me know what you think...
Be well and have a great day!
