Rezonators

'Gotta keep it goin' man.' - Big Dave McLean

About Me

Rezonators was formed by Gerry Norris and Rob Clarke in the autumn of 1996. Although this duo had played together in various genres since they met in high school in 1969, nothing ever stuck until the day Gerry arrives on Rob's doorstep and announces, "We're going to play the Blues!" "Fine!", says Rob and off they went.Drawing inspiration from the traditional blues of the Deep South they were soon doing covers by such greats as Blind Blake, Tampa Red, Barbeque Bob, Mississippi John Hurt, Bukka White, Son House and Robert Johnson. They also maintained a torrid pace in writing songs and very soon had enough to fill several CD's worth of originals. So far, one CD has been produced - Delta, Man. This effort has been well received by those who have heard it.Delta, Man is available for $15.00 plus postage. Rezonators are currently gathering and arranging material for a new CD and hope to be back in the recording studio in the near future.Currently, Gerry and Rob are also involved in an electrified blues lineup known as BLUEZFERYOUZ. The band plays covers and originals in Chicago, Texas and Jump style. Look for BLUEZFERYOUZ soon on MySpace!

Sounds Like: A small sample of some of the feedback we've received over the last while: ....enjoyed, (and continue to enjoy), the CD. Instrumentals were very good- as good as anything "mainstream commercial" & concept is appealing, "two old guys [old guys??!!] doing traditional blues, a la Sonny & Brownie, Guy & Wells, Cephas & Wiggins - J. Kiss & son ... I like the CD. I like your choice of blues formats ... good job on the music and lyrics ... If Joe Shifalo (his stage name is Pig Iron and he is a blues historian from Atlanta) is in town still, I will play the CD for him and get his take on it. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. Hurry up and make the new CD! I will play this one to everyone I can find." - Pat O'Neal ...everyone should get this cd! Buy one while you can! I love your CD. Great old-timey country blues, ragtime. My wife loves it, she's a traditional musician (dulcimer). If you like Jorma Kaukonnen's Blue Country Heart, you'll like this music. More, please. Bob ...Like all great blues bands, you have to start somewhere. Most guys start at the bottom and hopefully, after years of trying, work their way up. The Rezonators have a big problem. You guys are starting at the top!!! ... This album is outstanding, The way you work the National Steel is outstanding ... deserves major airtime on all Canadian [and hopefully American] Blues Stations ... Keep up the good work - I look forward to your next CD!" - D. Chamberlain, AL, Canada
