About Me

Glenda's talents range from songwriter, producer, music designer, healer and business owner to vocalist and entertainer. She loves combining musical styles from around the world such as the Qawwali music of Pakistan, North African Rai, sultry Latin rhythms and pure Oakland R&B grooves. Conveying a story of passion and depth, Glenda's music takes her listeners from one end of the globe to the other. Glenda achieves the magnetism of her music by using her visions to design the experiences that leave people transformed.

Glenda's lyrics sing the words that are unspoken. She is best known for her eloquent and unmatched descriptive words in her lyrical arrangements which leave people inspired to be fully present in the moment and illuminates the need for change. She uses her mesmerizing vocal ability to swiftly guide her audience from her raw and sultry sound toward an angelic heavenly cadence. Glenda's vocal versatility powerfully resonates through her four octave vocal range. Like the classic Jazz divas of old, Glenda captures a powerful mystique that enraptures her audience.

Glenda has sung with house-hold superstars such as Toto, Teddy Pendergrass and Damian Perkins. She has also collaborated with many top Producers and Songwriters including two-time Grammy winner Tony Saunders who has helped shape the musical careers of stars like Eric Clapton, Patti Labelle and Stevie Wonder. Ron Thaler, a highly diverse producer/arranger/instrumentalist who has worked with artists such as Alicia Keys, Sarah McLachlan and Sophie B Hawkins- is working with Glenda on her new album "Ten Tales of hunger."

Other professionals Glenda has worked with include Simon Britton and the Red Rhythm writing and production team who have produced super stars such as Ashanti, Eminem and Sting; Gospel great Howard McCrary who has worked with Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan, and James McKinney who musically helped brand Freddie Jackson, Melba Moore and Chaka Khan.

In 1998 Glenda created her record company "Dolce Voce Records LLc." and production company In The L.I.T.E Productions to promote and produce music and artistry that makes a powerful difference in the World. Since its creation, her companies have sponsored and produced many philanthropic events, concerts and causes. Glenda is constantly supporting organizations through benefit concerts and volunteer work for organizations such as the Sulha Peace Project, the Rainforest Action Network, "Results" and "Meals on Wheels." Releasing her first album in 2000, "Completion" fused both R & B and Jazz and as J. Michael Rivera of The Daily California stated, "(Completion) is a smooth blend that uplifts the spirit and calms the nerves."

Glenda has collaborated with songwriters James McKinney, Howard McCrary, John Sanders, and Michael Allen Harrison for her self-produced album, "Feed Your Soul" (2004) also featuring Grammy award winning Broadway star of "AIDA" and "RENT" Damian Perkins. "Feed Your Soul" is an eclectic mix of R&B, Soul, World, and Latin sounds which features a political anthem "Liberate Me", inspired by the treatment of women in Afghanistan, and the sexy, sultry "Black Raven" about an unrequited love affair between a married black man and a white woman.

The 2010 release of "Ten Tales of hunger" is a personal journey and exploration of how we find our own truth and create our own reality. More to come... In the summer of 2008, a new musical called "DIVINE LUST" was co-created by Glenda with Grammy award winning Broadway star of "AIDA" and "RENT" Damian Perkins. Rehearsals and opening are slated for 09/10.

She performs all around the world including such venues as the Cannes Film Festival, The Brava Theater in San Francisco, Popkomm in Berlin,The Beverly Wiltshire in Los Angeles and the Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz. When it comes to philanthropy or whether it's about love or politics, Glenda's haunting and uplifting lyrics define humanity and offer a new vision for a better world.
