In the spring of 2006: K. Phil and Crowthers performed Over the Hills and Far Away live at the Sandra Marr concert at Haddon Township High School. Jack Nary was slated to do the vocals, however Mrs. Van Buren did not want him in it. In addition, Devlin Munion, one of K. Phil's buddies, was also scheduled to perform with them, however due to his lack of practicing for the concert, he was kicked out on the day of performance.
In the Fall of 2006: K Phil and Crowthers performed yet again at the Sandra Marr concert, this time K Phil returning as an Alumni instead of a student. In addition, Mathew Bowen joined them on stage with his saxaphone, and as a trio they performed Black Dog.
In the spring of 2007: Crowthers and K. Phil returned to the biannual Sandra Marr, and this time played perhaps their greatest performance yet. With an entire band at hand, including Jack Nary on vocals, JRoll on bass, and Matt Bowen ..boards, they took home first place as the best performers there, and blew people's minds on Pink Floyd's "Money." The song lasted for over 7 minutes, with a face melting solo from Brian, a jazzy sax solo from Jack Nary, a thunderous pounding from K. Phil, and random keyboard bashing by Bowen. When the song finally finished, all 5 got a standing ovation from the crowd and two thumbs up from The Big Guy. Despite several mistakes by some of the members in the band, the cover of Money proved that it doesn't take fancy lighting and being the last act to be remembered as the highlight of the show.
In the summer of 2007: Crowthers and K. Phil started holding auditions for a bass player. They knew that this was the "missing link" of the band, and they had to be sure to find someone who could keep up with their jams. Therefore, Shawn Johnson was originally picked, however he was kicked out after just one jam session. The next bassist who was chosen to play was Crowthers' friend, Jeremy Juckett. Jeremy had already jammed previously with the band as a guitarist, but Crowthers requested that he should play bass on one hot summer night. After rocking for four straight hours on the bass, both K. Phil and Crowthers knew that they found the perfect match for the band. Jeremy Juckett would become a member of Silent Dynamite.
In the spring of 2008: Silent Dynamite was almost complete. They just needed a vocalist who was as enthusiastic about learning their songs as Jeremy was a half year before. At first, Jack Nary was slated to do vocals for the band. However, after just one jam session, it was clear that Jack's style of singing like Dave Matthews or Jack Johnson was not mixing with the band. It was at this time when K. Phil suggested that one of his friends at Drexel should come over for a jam session. Not only did this friend learn all of the songs prior to coming over, but brought the house down with a powerful performance behind the mic. It was clear that Burak Ozmucur would complete the band and become the singer of Silent Dynamite.
With the future looking bright, Silent Dynamite is now working on completing their professionally recorded demo songs, which will be submitted to record labels. In addition, they will be performing in upcoming concerts and events in New Jersey.
