Let's see, I'm not an easy one to sum up. Rural hippy roots started me off in a bus (up on blocks) in the woods. From there I've been out searching for a middle way between rampant idealism and some measure of practicality. For the past ten years this has landed me in New York where I write, cook, travel and feed the multitude of my creative whims. Many things about this city work for me. I like the sense of freedom and ease--haven't had to own a car for ten years. I also like the constant sense of possibility. You never know who you might meet or what weird little spectacle is just around the corner. But, I also enjoy subverting city life whenever possible--making things from scratch rather then going for the pre-made, takeout version. So I know my way around a kitchen and I'm pretty handy with power tools.
