About Me

This is the page to come to to hear and read about Brian Weingartner's latest musical happenin's. It's also a great place to contact him at.
Brian Weingartner is a versatile and diversely minded musician and audio engineer out of the hot hot urban deserts of Arizona. He has played trombone for over 12 years, and was brought up through many of the states top musical education programs. He has been taught privately by highly skilled educators over the years, including a two year stint with world renowned tubist and brass clinician Pat Sheridan.
Groups that Brian has performed with range from concert bands and symphony orchestras to punk/ska/rock/funk/jazz bands to brass ensembles and more.
Brian is also proficient on tuba and euphonium/baritone, and has some experience on stand-up and electric bass as well as piano.
After 3 years of many performance ensembles and a just a few credits shy of finishing his Associates in Audio Production Technology from Mesa Community College, Brian jumped at the opportunity in July of 07 for an internship at Studio 880 in Oakland, CA... One of Northern California's finest recording and mixing facilities. Here he has spent just over a year and a half logging many many hours doing everything from basic cleanup, going on runs, studying and practicing skills on the equipment, and learning the ropes of how a professional studio is ran.
Some highlights of this experience include assisting with sessions for Radio Angel, Sutro, Piero, Adrian Stern, Brain, Buckethead, Ana Buitrago, Robots of Fury, David Rideau (grammy nominated engineer mixing a new Ludacris album in surround), Michael Urbano, The Lovemakers, Gossip, TGT (Tyrese Gibson, Ginuwine, and Tank), as well as Lenny Kravitz live at the Fillmore in San Francisco, and Paramore in San Jose for the internet based series Soundcheck on Wal-Marts website.
Since April 08, Brian has also been an engineer on recordings for the B-Side 70's and Zion-i. Brian recorded and mixed some songs for the band Build Us Airplanes, and a soundtrack by the band to the Lewis Ingham film The Garden (available on youtube or the bands myspace page). Recent projects include recording Coupe de Ville, and engineering for an upcoming Emily Bell album. In addition Brian has also been cutting his teeth as a sound designer/foley artist/sound effects editor for an upcoming feature film called The Awakened, working on midi editing for the soundtrack to a live musical, and also editing sessions for the Wal-Mart Soundcheck series.
Brian has also been doing freelance audio work over the bay area, which includes live engineering work for "Masterpiece" a top-notch 9-piece corporate party band, consulting and assisting with project studio set-up, recording some acousitic guitar tracks to be used as ring-tones for Hewlett-Packard, and doing sound and lights with The Artisan Production Group which has led Brian to assisting with sound for The English Beat at a private party last year, as well as running the monitor mix for Midnight Star along with other various FOH and monitor duties at the 2008 Oakland Black Expo. Brian also did sound this past summer for the Kaiser Building Rooftop Gardens summer concert series , as well a few dates for the Oakland City Center concerts (both produced by Natasha Miller).
In February 2009 Brian moved to Vancouver, Canada to be with his wife. While waiting for immigration paperwork to be all sorted out, Brian has enjoyed getting involved with the local music scene playing in a couple jazz bands, a concert band, a british brass band, and 2 ska bands.
So, whether you're looking for a horn player for your next gig, need some charts arranged, want a musically and technically savy engineer to record your demos, or looking for a live sound guy, Brian Weingartner is ready for the task.
