Arkitextura

Arkitextura is a group which was created in the summer of 2003. Arkitextura is formed by 5 friends who live in different towns in the province of Barcelona and who want to bring our own particular vision of entertainment and electronic music to the world.Guillem Josep, Joan Vila, Oriol Cortadella, Edgar Colomer and Joan Caso are the members of our group and we work in two different artistic fields: musical and visual.Willy and Sybarite are Arktiextura’s DJ’s stage names. Their repertoires include all of the variations of minimal sound even though they are open to other styles such as house, electro and techno because our final goal is to keep up-to-date with our environment and our spectators.In-d-6 (Edgar Colomer) became a part of our group in December of 2004. His first performance as member of Arkitextura was at Rachdingue discoteque in Vilaju..ga. With his “Live Act”, Edgar gave out a dose of dance music where the cold sounds contrast with warm ones encouraging the crowd to dance to of the most minimal and convincing of house rhythms.Joan Vila is the person who is in charge of promoting our group. He loves electronic music and he is our liaison with the entertainment and cultural world.Rec Play Effects is in charge of the visuals aspect of Arkitextura (Oriola Cortadella and Joan Caso) and includes video and slides. The video images are generated almost entirely in digital format. The slides are also digital and are presented as a complement to the narrative in the videos.Arkitextura’s main goal is to boost the musical section by creating textures and synchronizing them with sound.In fact, the name Arkitextura clearly represents our group’s philosophy:• Arkitectura is the most technical part of the project. It includes the DJ’s techniques as well as the hardware and software used in the visual creations. • Textura represents the emotional aspect, the most human and creative point of view.The members of our group define themselves as texture architects. We use different techniques to build settings full of visual and sound textures and our aim is to stimulate the crowd’s senses.Our first performance took place in August 2003 at Palm Beach Club in Sant Feliu de Gu..xols. We have also performed at Sala Oniria in Barcelona, Rachdingue in Vilaju..ga, Zoom in Lloret de Mar, Blau club in Girona, Moog in Barcelona, Otto Zuttz in Barcelona, Lekasjbah in Barcelona, Dodo Beach in St. Vicens de Montalt, Light Club in Olot as well as other events such as Art Fusion and Rock al Bosc.
