About Me

Shawn Michael Lovett was born March 29th, 1979, in San Bernardino, CA. He is survived by his wife of almost 7 years, Kimberly Grace Lovett, and his 4 year old son Logan William Lovett of Redlands, as well as his Father, Gene Lovett of Loma Linda, Mother, Barbara Lovett of Calimesa, and two half brothers, Damon Lovett of Texas, and Randy Lovett of Oklahoma. Shawn grew up in San Bernardino, CA; attending Barton Elementary, and graduating San Gorgonio High School class of 1997. Shortly thereafter he joined the United States Navy, where he was assigned to VRC-30 out of San Diego, CA. Serving four and a half years as a Sailor, and completing two world tours on the flight deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln. After finishing his enlistment, he tried the role of Mr. Mom to his new born son, and 3 months later decided becoming a Soldier might just be an easier task. October 28th, 2003 Shawn joined the United States Army, and in April of 2004 was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division stationing him at Fort Campbell, KY. Packing their lives into a moving van, his wife and son made their new home along side Shawn, amongst the small town of Hopkinsville, KY where they enjoyed two years of life in the "slow" lane. He was assigned to Alpha Company of the 4th BTB a few months later. He completed Air Assault School in December of 2004, and was pinned Sergeant joining the ranks of a Non-Commissioned Officer, November of 2005. Two days after Thanksgiving that same year, Shawn was sent to Iraq, where he and his fellow Engineers swept the streets of Baghdad in search of IED’s. Shawn returned home to the United States November 2006. He spent the last month of his life amongst his family and friends in Redlands. He was a dedicated Husband, Father, Son, Friend and Soldier. His dedication was apparent in all things and at all times. He never laughed with a half smile, never worked without finishing what he started; he never loved without a full heart. He will be missed, but never forgotten.Myspace Graphics
