I am a 28 year old Biology teacher at York Comprehensive High School. I am also an assistant coach for the varsity football and varsity basketball teams. I was born in East Norriton, Pennsylvania which is just outside of Philadelphia. At the age of 2 we moved to the great state of South Carolina where I have lived ever since. I graduated from Union High School in 1998. I played football, basketball, and ran track. I went to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and played football for the Mocs. I played defensive end. I went to Chattanooga with the intent of majoring in civil
engineering and one day becoming an architect. But I realized that I would be happier working with young people and staying involved in sports. I am glad I made that decision. Next to accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior, it was the best decision I have ever made.On March 28, 2000 at about 4 A.M., my father, Dennis O'neal DeWalt passed away. He was a victim of cancer. It was quite a humbling experience that taught me numerous lessons. There are still days when it gets tough and I am a better man because of it. My mom still lives in Union. My brother, Eric,and his family lives in Charlotte. He and his wife Kay have a daughter, Zoe Gabrielle DeWalt, that just turned one on December 20th.
