I first started playing drums at the age of 3. As the son of a bass player, My father (Mike Boterman of Whiskey River Fame) nurtured his playing from the beginning. When middle school came I began playing with a reformed version of Whiskey River and other various projects that my dad had put together. After high school I decided to head to UMD to pursue their Jazz Studies program and study with Dave Schmalenberger, but left after a year and a half after an offer to hit the road with The Nathan Anderson Project. Over the years, I have played with many bands in northern Minnesota, the Twin Cities and Montana. Whiskey River, The Nathan Anderson Project, SD3, Textbook Ninja, Q Public, Brian Naughton and The Prophets of Soul just to name a few. I am currently playing with Greenstar in Missoula, MT.
