When Wicked YB burst onto the Bay Area music scene, the people never knew what was coming. While other reggae artists at the time were focusing on NYC, L.A., Miami, and so forth, Wicked YB turned out the reggae scene in the Bay with his hard hitting freestyle lyrics, explosive and innovative beats, and powerful stage presence. Even as his fans begin to familiarize with his sound, he turns everyone for a loop, creating whole new sounds, as he did with his fusion of Brazilian Samba and Reggae Dancehall, naming it Samba-Reggae. In fact Wicked YB cannot even be classified into one type of music, as his songs are not just soca and reggae from his native home in the Carribean, but also deliberately contain elements from African and Latin American sounds, from Brazil to Ghana, the Congo to Mexico, and back
