NEW WEBSITE COMING 25TH JUNE WWW.RACHELDAWICK.COM plus TICKETS NOW ONLINE FOR THE "ED'S BAR AND GRILL" E.P LAUNCH AT THE EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL!!!Singer songwriter from New Zealand now based in Glasgow, Scotland. Previously part of all female blues/celtic trio 'Ruby Blue' performing across New Zealand in folk festivals and clubs. Since moving to the UK 4 years ago Rachel has been writing and performing her own songs across the folk circuit in the UK and released her first solo album 'Journeys' arranged by the Scottish guitarist and composer Sandy Stanage in 2008 having returned from a songwriting week in the beautiful Colorado mountains. 2009 sees the launch of the new E.P "Ed's Bar and Grill" on the 19th August at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival which will see her first show with the full band!! This signals a new musical direction from the last album and a move into the world of country/blues working for the last six months with the wonderful Mark Freeguard (Eddi Reader, Boo Hewerdine) to put this album together. She has played in numerous festivals as part of Ruby Blue in New Zealand (Incl Canterbury Folk Festival and Whare Flat Festival in Dunedin), played in Folk Clubs in New Zealand and across the UK as either main act or supporting many great artists including Boo Hewerdine, Heidi Talbot, Kristina Olsen, Niave Parsons, Malinky, Mick Hanly and so the list goes on and recently attended two separate songwriting retreats run by Chris Difford in Italy along with 12 other songwriters writing collaborative pieces with some wonderful songwriters including Kenton Hall (Ist), Riley Briggs (Aberfeldy), Danielle Gasparo (NY), Amber Rubarth (USA), Eran James, Athena Andreadis, Dorie Jackson, Jan Bijker, Madelaine Hart, Jim Byrne and so the list continues .

For my new EP "Ed's Bar and Grill" and the launch of this on the 19th August 2009 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival I am joined by Nick Lewis on guitar and vocals, Roy Dodds (Percussion), Kevin McGuire (Double Bass) and Andy May (piano). Have played in the past with Sandy Stanage in Scotland (guitar and composer) and in New Zealand as vocalist in band Ruby Blue with guitarists Susan Grant and Marise Clark .......two of the best women in the world!
