The Truth.
Nothing BUT the Truth.
"........And These days it seems as if NOBODY is telling it," says Chaz H. from the Avenue Music Group. "Everybody is overexagerated. I don't know about them, but staying real to myself is what keeps me sane. I just wouldn't feel normal if I didn't speak the truth." Now, If only half of the world thought that way. Chaz H. was born in Brookdale Hospital in The Fall of 1985. He lived on Cresent Street in the East New York section of Brooklyn until 5 years old, then relocated to where he was raised, Crown Heights..........In The City where hip-hop music was concieved. His first taste of hip-hop came about at the age of 4 and had him immitating one of Hip-Hop's many veterans, Kool Moe Dee. He remembers that time to this day and chuckles. "That's part of the reason why I wear these gatdamn shades!" He laughs. What really made him fall in love with the music was an album we all know and love (if you don't know, you need to get it together and cop asap) called "The Score"........."The fugees was my SHIT. My older sister put me on to that. I had this old-ass boombox my pops gave me and a cassette tape. I played that tape until the tape deck broke......and this is real talk!!" (chuckles again). His goal is to make an album reminiscent of that era......"Not asap though. Probably like for my LAST album or some shit like that, feel me? By then EVERYONE will be listening. It's a very attainable mufuckin' goal if I do say so myself!!" If He can pull THAT off in THIS day in age, then he'll go down as one of the greats in OUR book. ".......Then I met niggas like Trig. You'll be surprised how in-depth this nigga can get, real talk (chuckles). This nigga was like 16 with a flow like I never heard before, mind you these was the times when Jigga and Nas was at they career highs and everybody was copying them......but nah....I ain't saying nobody is better than nobody!! (winks). He introduced me to a group of niggas who changed my outlook on this rap shit forever...... good AND bad.......and they know who they are, I ain't even gotta say no more."
When asked where HIS lyrical content derives from, Chaz H. says this: "It comes from the heart. My heart was beating out here in these streets for real. I played the block FOR REAL. I aint glamorizing or talking like I'm some O.g., but I ain't get a high-school diploma. I got a GED and tried some more school after that, but it didn't work out for personal reasons. Can't nobody say I wasn't out there.......even my worst enemy can't tell you I wasn't doing what I do. The street got all types of shit in it, whether negative or positive. Where I'm from you got every type of person possible. You got niggas that are better athletes than the guys you see on T.v.........you got niggas on your block funnier than your favorite comedian. You got the bitches and hoes.......then you have your WOMEN. You got the dealers. You got the teachers. You got the gangsters. You got the suspect niggas. You got the old, you got the young. When all these people are forced to live in one spot, a million situations will arise, so you DAMN RIGHT it's gonna be something to talk about (laughs). These are the things I done seen and experienced. I represent the AVENUE........and that's what it is."
We couldn't have said it better ourselves.
Chaz H. just wants everybody to get ready.......The Avenue Is Here.........and you can either quote RIDE, OR HOP OFF THE MUFUCKIN' PEGS.......
Unquote.
