Fixed Idea

About Me

Support your loco scene!El Paso based ska band with a Fixed Idea to create a unique sound that includes flavorful elements of music. From cumbia to reggae and punk to ska, to what can now be considered El Chuco Ska. Such an original concept began in 1992 and evolved more into what would soon be considered the trademark sound of the El Paso ska scene . Fixed Idea in it's earlier years was featured on several compilation c.d.s and later became part of Broken Bonez Records with ( original members Pancho Mendoza (lead vocals and guitar), Frank Lujan (tenor sax), Rick Rodriguez (drums), and Jaime Candelaria (bass). Years later the fervid group continues to evolve and aspire to a great sound. Without hesitation they cater to their ardent fan base in the multicultural city of El Paso with newer members Mario(keys), Maribel (alto sax), the Rev(trumpet). On a more commendable level, Fixed Idea will strive to achieve greater success. What is success you may ask? Success in the mind of a true musician is being able to create a unique style that can only be identified by one band. One band that can bring such a diverse crowd together to enjoy the originality of their collection of songs. A Fixed Idea it is and will remain for years to come
