About Me

Go Bulls!

OK, I lied, I'm keeping the color scheme. My bears may have lost, but I'm still gonna carry the torch. I don't want to switch to red and white until the well after the worst holiday ever invented (for monetary purposes none the less) is over.

I always hate filling this stuff out. Who cares? But I'm a guy living in Chicago enjoying life. I spend a lot of time working and a lot of time with friends. I can quickly be described as a bit of a geek, but friends and relatives who need computer assistance appreciate that. Otherwise, I'm out and about in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago doing whatever.

Pretty freaky stuff

You are a pirate!Remember, international talk like a pirate day is September 19th!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Anyone really. Or maybe you all suck? Nah, I didn't mean that. Honestly, I'd love to meet Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin right around the time of the Continental Congress. And I'd like to meet the guy who invented colds. I'm totally gonna hurt him.

My Blog

The military

So I've been watching this miniseries called Carrier on PBS. It's a 16 hour series chronicling a 6 month cruise aboard the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier. I've gotta say that this is really a pretty cool...

This radio ad is just odd

OK, so there’s an ad in Chicago running on the radio right now that makes me chuckle. It’s not so much deceptive, but rather somewhat odd. I’m referring to an ad for a jewelry store ...

Getting rid of pests

OK, so I just saw a commercial for a product called Riddex. Supposedly, it keeps common household pests at bay by using electrical signals driven through the lines in your house. Whether it works or n...

Buying Gold...

Ok, so I just saw an ad for an investment vehicle by the name of Monex. Basically, Monex provides a mechanism for buying gold as an investment for the common person. This by itself isn't all that inte...

Consumer beware!

Ok, so it's no surprise that companies want money. That's why they're in business. Trade a good or service for cash. The height of capitalism. But it seems like the push to get the cash causes compani...

Comments about cars

It’s fun to rent cars and see what you’re missing. Avis generally has fairly new cars so you end up getting to try new stuff. Unless it’s a corporate account with limitations and you...

A rainy day in California

OK, so I just gotta ask why? Why would someone build a souvenier shop slash tourist attraction solely based on garlic? Seriously, there's a couple of garlic farms on 101 about 30 minutes south of San ...

Another nightmare

OK, thought I would post yet another dream/nightmare I had last night. This one was interesting in that it related to a trip I took in June to West Virginia. Not sure why that would hit now, but it di...

Nightmares

Ok, so this one really got me, so I gotta write about it. I had a doozy of a nightmare last night. So much did it freak me out that I remember twice during the dream that I tried to wake up long enoug...
