Ducati Monsters, adventure, sunlight, vehicles, smart, charismatic people, ganga, movies, music (almost all of it), sci-fi, strong women, hot girls, trivia, technology, my aquarium, the english language, and the finer nuances of viscerality. Really, if it's naughty, offensive or illegeal I'm probably a big fan.
People with a propensity for bravery in their everyday dealings.
House, lounge, hardcore, rap, classical, jazz, whatever. Some recent listens include: Audio Bullys, Johnny Cash, Erykah Badu, Billie Holiday, Big L, Lemon Jelly, Nightmares on Wax, Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, Rick James, Radiohead, Swayzak, Scissor Sisters, Mocean Worker, Allman Brothers, South, Elbow, Peggy Lee, Patsy Cline, 9 Lazy 9, A Night at the Playboy Mansion. I haven't been much since I've moved here, but I love to dance and am very good, considering I'm a straight white boy.
I've been to film school. I appreciate films but I prefer flicks! If I'm gonna pay eleven bucks for a film, I'm gonnna expect something that needs twelve speakers and an 80 foot screen. There's nothing wrong with films where people talk about their feelings. You rent those. Some of my all-time faves: Blade Runner, Star Wars films, Escape from New York, Alien movies, Akira, The Thing, Chinatown, The Fifth Element, Being There, The Good the Bad and The Ugly, Indiana Jones films. I live near the greatest theatres in the world, so I have guilt about not getting to the cinema more often. The best recent film is Grandma's Boy. So damn funny...
I have become a hopeless High-Definition junkie! As a result, I've been watching an awful lot of Discovery Channel/Nat'l Geographic Hi-Def, travel shows, and TONS of movies! As far as TV Programs are concerned, I try to make a point of not collecting too many shows. I think I've failed. Here's a list of must-haves: Superbikes! (which I also edit), Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Deadliest Catch, Pinks!, Family Guy, Simpsons, Dethklok Metalocalypse, Venture Brothers, Heroes
I'm well read, but I just don't have the attention span for books anymore. I'm pretty much a magazine reader but for the first time in years I just read a book. "Pimp" by Iceberg Slim. It's an autobiography. Fascinating read.
Heroes? Maybe Hank Corwin. He's a HUGELY succesful editor who cuts lots of commercials (great $$$) and also cuts lots of films (not as great$$$, but HUGE respect). He does what he wants and has a succesful bicoastal company. The rest of our so-called heroes are all clowns. Politicians? Athletes? Musicians? Puh-leeze!
