“You are the one I denied pushed you away every time you tried to get in my life,†were the words coming from back stage as the audience looked around to see where the harmonic voice was coming from, “Now I’m able to swallow my pride and put all my worldly ways to the side cuz I realized nobody else can do what you do, so know now, Lord, it you that I choose and I’m still cool. Cuz even thru any circumstance I can praise you just by lifting my hands and I can do my dance†is how she, Crystal Pearson, finished off her acapella introduction in her 1st major performance.
Born on September 17, 1984 in Miami, Florida this young lady was destined for greatness. With her first love being music she began to write lyrics at an early age and put on free concerts for family and friends. With the support of her loving mother she performed in local talent shows, church choirs, beauty shops, wherever it was appropriate. As she grew older she realized that singing and writing lyrics was just a small contribution she could make to her musical resume. She began to put together singing groups and perform in school shows and in the community.
Now, at the age of 23, she is venturing out and is becoming well known in her community as The Duggy Chick! As the founder of The KID Crew, she and her team of radical teens are intended to serve as a representative for youth who live a radical lifestyle. KID (Keepin It Duggy) refers to the outer state of being as a lifestyle influenced by fashion, street sense and most importantly, spirituality. When you’re “keepin’ it duggy for the kingdomâ€, you’re no longer allowing outside persuasions to cause you to question you spirituality because you’ve identified who you are in Christ. As she and her crew would say,
