About Me

Q. "What d'ya call a dj who plays All Night Long?"
A. "Vinyl Richie"
I still consider myself young, hardly ever worried, chilled as can be and I put my all into everything i love doing. I'm a very caring person, a bit of a perfectionist with great attention to detail, but most of all i'm really, totally, utterly (not butterly) head over heels into MUSIC.
I live in a big house, in a big city where i have a number of tall men standing guard all around the outside perimeter, and they're all wearing a red jacket and a black furry kind of animal thing on their head. Sound familiar? Yep you probably guessed it and before you ask the answer is no, i don't have to wipe my own arse ;)
Seriously, i'm living & breathing in Sheffield (originally from Conisbrough) with my supersonic DeXton, living in a beautiful flat, with a beautiful life. How the 'eck did i get here... Well, my brain is full of figures / numbers constantly so i make a great 'Funding Accounts lady' working for a motor company situated quite close to home. Bit of a shame really as i love to go for long drives in my Bugatti Veyron ;)
Here's what i can't seem to get out of the Bugatti's CD player at the moment (probably because it's that good). It's a mix of my favorite records that i know for a fact i will NEVER get bored of hearing. They've been put together by the dude Damien 'DodgyHip'd' Exton, so it's not bad at all really ;) You can view the playlist above in my blog, in detail.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I've already met the man i'm gonna grow old and wrinkley with so i'd like to meet other people that inspire or interest me. They would be: Kiefer Sutherland, Denzel Washington, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, John Malkovich & Will Smith (purely for their credibility both on and off screen). If i had to choose one person it would probably be Will Smith purely out of respect for his whole background and rise and RISE to super-stardom and remained down to earth. He looks more fitter and fantastic in every new film he makes, wit-woo! Plus there's the fact that he built up the fantastic 'Boom Boom Room' and has the best intro to represent his Overbrook Entertainment production company - a spinning vinyl record. I love this man and I would love to see his Boom Boom Room properly...

For the musical side of things i'd like to meet David Byrne and Bernie Worrell (to shake their hands and thank them for Naive Melody), Sting, Jamiroquai or more than likely, some of the best American House Music producers of all time (which is now) so i could ask them how they manage to come up with the sounds that they do.

I say American cos that's what the majority of my personal favorites are. They seem to develop and deliver unique & fine sounds that other House music producers end up following.

I have many other non-American favorites though without a doubt. In fact, if it wasn't for some certain English dj's i wouldn't have spent my late teens and most of my twenties, travelling up and down the country, listening to their chosen vinyl taking in and loving every possible minute (except for when I had to pee and take half an hour). Through these times i was able to meet some very inspiring people and hold some great memories in the remaining brain cells that i have left. For this present moment in time and the older I get, for me it keeps on getting better and better, and i wouldn't want to change a single bit.

Finally, I'm STILL waiting to meet with my bank manager. He'll be presenting me with a personal cheque for 10 million squiddley-widdley's very soon – so get a move on!
