TonyMac was born Jimmy Antonio McClellan II, in Chicago, the infamous “Cabrini Greensâ€. His family later moved to the south suburbs Harvey where he attended Roosevelt Elementary there he performed his first solo “Angel†by Dru Hill.Consumed with writing his journals of adventure and drawings of art he decided to move on and later became interested in football. Where he not only played for Harvey Colts but would later go on to play for Dolton’s Bears and Thornton WildCats under Coach T. guidance.Coach T. confided in TonyMac stating, “he had the potentials to become the next NFL starâ€.It was in his teenage years he would return to one of the loves of his life “music†He and a long time friend Stuff began recording in the garage and later moved his music into the basement of Stuff’s house. After talking his god-brother into joining them TonyMac aka Capone began to write his own music and sing with a sauntering style that not only appealed to the younger generation but also to the baby-boomers. He would later perform at Hammond High school “Playing Games†written and performed by TonyMac and a high school friendJibreel Tracy. His music teacher Miss G. recognizing the talent he posed began to encourage and nurture him whenever he was around her. She would later encourage him to perform on stage at Morton High School one of his creations “Playing Games†with Jibreel Tracy. The crowd was in an uproar and became disappointed that he did not win the talent show.
