Edward I

I am here for Friends

About Me

- I have a huge ego. Maybe the biggest you'll ever see. Everyone close to me agrees that every bit of it is deserved, though.
- I do things for people. When there is nothing that I can do for a person, when I can't even make them smile, tension builds up.
- Don't chalk my kindness up to empathy, or you'll build false expectations of me; I'm helpful because it's constructive.
- I'm pretty uptight. My friends don't seem to mind though.
- I can ALWAYS tell when I am being misled. It's not handy, it's a curse. ESPECIALLY when I sit back and watch how everything unfolds, just to admire how right I was and how cruel the world can be.
- The cut of my jib is razor sharp. It is lethal. It is not just a surface wound.
- Sometimes I get reclusive. For weeks at a time. I used to think it was because of who I am, but I've newly realized that I think it's because of who I'm with.
**********Family and friends who want to add me, my name on here is just "Ross H". I had to put an email/full name verification so that I wouldn't get so many screwy porno people trying to add me for no reason, but I couldn't use my actual name because business contacts would look me up and I was uncomfortable with that. Ross H gives me a nice cloud of ambiguity. If they want to find me bad enough to sift through all of those, let them find me.

My Interests

Proactivity, puzzles, pinball, board games, feeding squirrels, computers (databases, web development, software, servers, hardware, networking...)
Video Games: Dynasty Warriors, Final Fantasy, DDR, Age of Empires, Seven Kingdoms, Fallout, Resident Evil, Burnout, Katamari Damacy, Romance of the Three Kingdoms

I'd like to meet:

Best friends are in short supply. I want one. My best friend would be:
Someone to hang out with a few times a week. Ability to converse and not judge is preferred. I whine about a lot of shit, and I want to be able to whine with my friends without feeling like an ass.
Someone worth taking bullets for.
Someone who is capable of being happy without intoxicants.
Someone who has a vision or an idea or...something to listen to.
Someone who believes a third strike is one too many.
Someone who possesses and demonstrates the following: respect, wisdom, intellect, tact, timing, charm, inhibition, logic, loyalty, moderation, appreciation, purpose, etiquette

Music:

Supreme Beings of Leisure, Kaiser Chiefs, Jethro Tull, World/Inferno Friendship Society, Queen, Rush, Jem, Sleater-Kinney, Buckethead, Electric Six, The Knife, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Hammerfall, Of Montreal, Hot Chip, Dragonforce
I like charts. They know me better than I know me. At least they did before I started constantly listening to JAMS ONLY (The playlist featured above)

Movies:

The Fifth Element, Run Lola Run, Casablanca, Back to the Future, The Crow, Boondock Saints, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Crank, The Matrix
Have to watch the following more, but they show some promise: Face/Off, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill v.2, The Usual Suspects, all of the 007 movies...
I like quotable movies, obviously...

Television:

The Simpsons, Corner Gas, Cowboy Bebop, Mad Men, The Office (US. Haven't been introduced to the UK version yet, but I am not typically a fan of British entertainment, minus a couple of 1960s bands...), House, Dead Like Me, Star Trek: The Next Generation, MXC, Mythbusters, Jeopardy, Invader Zim, The Outer Limits, The A-Team, American Gladiators, Mr. Belvedere, Night Court, Square One TV, Ghostwriter, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego (The Game Show)
I'm also passionate about the Brisbane Lions and Green Bay Packers (and other Australian and American football glory, respectively). The Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago White Sox are alright in the baseball world.

Books:

I don't read. I am way, way too slow at it. It makes me feel bad. These are good though:
Alan Lightman - Einstein's Dreams, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie *that one means a lot to me*, Dante - The Inferno, Shakespeare - Hamlet *and the rest of his work*, Edgar Allan Poe - The Raven *and also everything else*, Dr. Seuss - Fox in Socks, Connolly & Begg - Database Systems, Puzzle Books & altases & User Guides!! (I like input & mental exercise...)

Heroes:

I don't really respect anyone as a hero. Even legendary people have bad days, and I judge people when they're at their worst. There's no good way to learn all of the bad things a person has done once they've been immortalized for doing something great.
