Profile GeneratorKaniba was born in late 2003 as Terrorgoat. With that name, well over 20 recordings on tape and CD-r were released (including one tape on Sadolust Records); the style was crude, raw, primitive and unpolished Noise at first with plenty of Metal-influences, but the direction was progressively away from the Metal-influences and raw crudity towards a more darkly brooding, ritualistic Dark Ambient-approach to the music.
In 2005 the name was changed to Kaniba to reflect the change in the vision of the project, the shift in ideology and purpose, and to better suit the direction the music had evolved to. Gone was the harshly primitive and chaotic violence of old, replaced by a far more subtle, brooding and multi-faceted approach, ever more leaning away from the confines of things "dark" and "evil".
In 2006, the US-based label Autumn Winds Productions released the three-way split "The Trinity Of Non-Being" with Black Seas Of Infinity, Kaniba and Ugegi Aoiveae A Ser, and later the same year, Kaniba's debut full-length, "The Serpent, Or The Omega And The Completion Of The First Circle".
The next full-length album, "Death Songs", will be released by Autumn Winds Productions in 2008. A tape compiling new tracks and unreleased older tracks is also in the works, as well as re-releases of a few sold-out Terrorgoat tapes and possibly a compilation tape/CD-r of old, unreleased Terrorgoat-material (all of these through CDP). A few collaborative releases are also either planned or awaiting release. Keep an eye on this space for more info.
And just as a footnote, I'm fucking terrible and being social over the 'net, so don't expect that. It's not rudeness, it's lack of social skills.
ATTN! Regarding adding friends: In the future I will accept friend requests only by such people who I either have contact with, respect as musicians/people/etc. or see some other good reason to add as friends. So if your request gets turned down and you think you fall into one of those groups, drop me a message. Again, not being rude, I just don't see the need to have a gazillion of "friends" who I never have any contact with.
