Sorry I havn't been so good at updating..we had a few shows last autumn/winter but due to different things we didn't perform as much as we wanted. We performed at Zene+ in Rødovre, Denmark, and at the alternative cultural hous Bolsjefabrikken in NV, Copenhagen.
We are sad to say that Kari-Anne doesn't want to be part of our ensemble anymore, she wants to concentrate at other projects, we will miss her! So now we are only three members and we will be performing even less with the buffoons :(. But we have stand-ins and people that can join us if we get shows so we are still open for booking :D, and please contact us if you have questions or if you are interested in what we do!
Soon we will be out there to twist your minds and hearts again!!!

We want to thank Halmstad Int. Street theater festival for having us!! We had a great time and are looking foward to next year!
And thanks again to Copenhagen qeerfestival! It's always a plesieur!!

Once again we had a wicked time performing and giving workshop at Czas Teatru in Opole in Poland! Check out their homepage for photos and such: www.czasteatru.pl. It was also a great experience to play with our special guest star Jonna Letho from Finland!! She will also join us for the gig in Halmstad on 31st of july.

We performed at Bodoni in Malmoe on saturday, (thank you Ciilja for inviting us!) it was an interesting experience for us to play in a night-club. It was very noisy and people were very drunk, but we probably gave at least a few people a good time.
Some sad news: Kari-Anne is going to travel until the end of june. :-( We haven't decided yet if we are going to find a replacer for the time or if we are going to have a break...I will get back to you on that one!

Happy New Year!
Finally the christmas holydays are over and we can all go on with our lifes!
We had a splendid 2007 and are looking foward to an even more succesful 2008!! Next show is going to be in Malmoe, Sweden! We are performing at a Wild at heart-party at the nightclub Bodoni. There will also be two bands playing: Conshitas and The Southern Hostiles!! Be there you folks!!

After a nice summer whit gigs at Copenhagen Queerfestival and Halmstad int. Street Theatre Festival we have had a short brake, some of our beloved members had to go visit their families in Norway and Sweden. But now we are going strong again, rehearsing and making new shows!! Wuhuu!! We have to gigs coming up; Camp 22.30 at Rialto Teatret in Frederiksberg, Denmark on the 2nd of nov, and in Rum Ett at Dunkers Kulturhus in Helsingborg on the 17th of nov! We are looking foward to see you in one (or both) of these locations!!

We came back from Opole a week ago after a week filled with workshops, performances, singing partying, dansing and "Fantazja"!! Thanks to Czas teatru and thanks to all the fantastic people we met!! See you next year!!

Me and Stine just came home from Sweden where we gave two buffoon-workshops. The first a one day workshop whit a theatre-group in Halmstad that are going to be the commenting mass on a big show at the 700 year jubilee of the town. we gave them a small taste of the buffoons universe and helped them whit their piece.
The second was a two and a half day workshop whit the theatre students at Katrinebergs folkhögskola outside Falkenberg. We had a great time and great students at both occations. They gave us all their energi and it was a pleisure to work whit them! Thank you!

Due to different personal reasons three of our members -Martin, Ernesto and Lars- have left the group. We are sorry about it but we wish them good luck whit their comming projects.
We are at the same time happy to announce that we got two new members, Hanna and Kari-Anne, very welcome to "The Buffoon's Needle"!! Me and Stine are very much looking foward to play whit you!!
We are still searching for a fifth buffoon, but we don't doubt we will find one soon!!!

Right now we are planning our summer tour, trying to find gigs and festivals.
Moa and Stine are also selling their Buffoon workshop around South scandinavia.
The rehearsing of new material is a little bit slow at the moment due to a few different matters. But very soon we will be up on the floor whit new topics and making fun of the human way of life!!

About Us
The Buffoon’s Needle is an independent international theatre group with base in Copenhagen, Denmark. The group were founded in September 2005 and have at the moment five members with different background and experience.
The thing we have in common is that we all, at different times, attended “The Commedia School†in Copenhagen.
The Buffoon’s Needle has produced several different shows and has performed at different venues both locally and internationally. About Buffoon
The difference between the clown and the buffoon is that the audience laughs at the clown, but the buffoon laughs at the audience.
During the Middle Ages malformed and handicapped people where ejected from society, only once a year they got to parade trough the villages. These freaks had no inhibitions and their ingenuity knew no boundaries. They cursed the king and the church and showed of their deformed bodies to the horrified and enchanted inhabitants.
The modern buffoon-genre is founded and developed by the French director Jacque Lecoq.
Buffoon is a complex technique and theatre-style that opens the door to an extraordinary dramatic dimension.
The Buffoons grotesque and misshapen appearance gives them endless possibilities of expression.
They are refused by society. The Buffoons have nothing to loose, they consider themselves superior to mankind and take no sides except their own and therefore they turn sacred values into amusing parodies.
About The Show
What does it mean to be alive today?
In our constantly expanding society, in which the differences between our cultures, class and living standards are on the increase, it is difficult not to feel small, and powerless. While the media feeds us endless information, making it hard for us to know what to believe or what is important, our own fear and insecurity expands our isolation from each other.
The Buffoons Needle takes the audience in to the Buffoon universe.
The buffoons mirror the weaknesses and strengths of humanity trough madness, mystery, uncovered satire and dark humor, without crossing the line and saying what is wrong or right.
Whit fast turns between comedy and seriousness these grotesque creatures stir the human spirit, to incite imagination and awe,
and to challenge our preconceptions through the compelling means of physical theatre.
The Buffoons Needle makes people stop – even if only for a short moment – and reflect on how we humans behave and treat each other and the world we live in.
