-Joy T. Daniels, Artist
"Steve has evolved into a true guitar player combining both the necessary knowledge and skill to be able play any style at any time. His ability to adapt and his passion for music make him a huge asset to any project he's working on."
-Erik DiNardo, Artist
"Stephen has a strong desire to work as a sideman. He is very interested in playing for the song, and always asks questions about choice recordings. I was fully impressed with his parts in the song. I have no doubt that he'll be touring and recording for artists down the road."
-Scott Tarulli, Professor of Guitar, Berklee College of Music
Knowledge Speaks, but Wisdom Listens…The trick is to listen for what the song is missing. When you have that, you have everything you need. You have the SOUL of it. No matter what genre you study the one constant is that the song always needs to have a soul of its own. I began my study of guitar around the age of 12, and throughout high school I enjoyed studying with many great local guitar teachers including Dave Coe, Paul Gabriel, and Al Ferrante of the Edgar Winter Group. I entered Berklee College of Music with the aspiration of becoming a great singer/songwriter, which I feel gives me a great edge on writing guitar parts "for" the song. It was around the same time I realized I hated singing that I came to find that I LOVED guitar. By my 3rd semester I was declared a guitar performance major, I was the guitar player in the Berklee Tower of Power Ensemble, and had a steady schedule of weekly gigs and sessions at Berklee and around Boston to keep me happy. I have also been given the honor of playing guitar in the house band at the Berklee Performance Center & Agganis Arena for a few shows including Singer's Showcase and Commencement Concerts. The summer of 2007 kept me busy giging with Joy and The L-Rockers, and working on Joy Daniels' new CD entitled Electric Soul Music due out soon. The debut release of Hannah & The Bloodlines full length debut album entitled Far From The Tree (4/1/09) has kept me busy for most of 2008. As a graduate from Berklee College of Music, I am THRILLED to be playing more than ever! Hannah & The Bloodlines has a Summer tour booked, The Ferrous Wheel is taking off, and a few new projects are always in the works. I am always available for PRIVATE LESSONS on anything from learning a Jimi Hendrix tune, to just discussing what I feel goes into writing, improvising, and ultimately creating music. I am also always interested in making myself available to play with some new people.
EMAIL ME @ [email protected] (rather than myspace message) for any information on lesson prices, and for booking/finding out about having me play with you or your band.
I look forward to meeting you!!!
