The Cosplay project (formerly Cosplay2003 until Jan. 22, 2007) started in early Autumn, 2005 by me, Merl Sushi. Using my computer and several freeware programs, I mostly worked with industrial, cybergrind, and techno music. Over time, however, the project expanded and incorporated many different influences, from video game soundtracks to jazz.
The sound of the Cosplay project ranges widely: from atmospheric noise to cheerful tunes, from cold doom to cute melodies, rounded out with a fascination of minimalism, folk, electronic dance music, ancient mysteries, and old-fashioned video games. Not being educated much in music theory yet, Cosplay tends more towards experimentation and tampering with pure sound, melody, and structure.
