About Me

"First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do." --Epictetus
"Few men are willing to brave the disapproval of their fellows, the censure of their colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or great intelligence. Yet it is the one essential, vital quality for those who seek to change the world which yields most painfully to change. Aristotle tells us, 'At the Olympic Games it is not the finest or the strongest men who are crowned, but those who enter the lists. ... So too in the life of the honorable and the good it is they who act rightly who win the prize.' I believe that in this generation those with the courage to enter the conflict will find themselves with companions in every corner of the world." -- Robert F. Kennedy
"I was told when I grew up I could be anything I wanted: a fireman, a policeman, a doctor -- even president, it seemed. And for the first time in the history of mankind, something new, called an astronaut. But like so many kids brought up on a steady diet of westerns, I always wanted to be the avenging cowboy hero -- that lone voice in the wilderness, fighting corruption and evil wherever I found it, and standing for freedom, truth, and justice. And in my heart of hearts I still track the remnants of that dream wherever I go, in my endless ride into the setting sun." -- Bill Hicks

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

the ones who walk away from Omelas?

"... She is his deepest innocence in spaces of bough and hay before wishes were given a separate name to warn that they might not come true. ... You go from dream to dream inside me." --Thomas Pychon, Gravity's Rainbow
