In an industry full of new artists, Toi, brings a phenomenally unique blend of Urban, Christian, Jazz, Contemporary, Worship and Traditional Gospel sound that captures the masses./n/Toi, next to the youngest from a family of 5, whose parents are Etta Meade "Lee" Boyd and Marcellus Montreal Lee, Sr. started singing at the age of 7. Toi grew up along side by her father, Marcellus Lee (deceased), who played standards. Mr. Lee is a descendent of The General Robert E. Lee of the State of Virginia, which is Toi's 5th Great Grandfather. It's a historical amazing story. This is where she began to be molded like a “Diamond in the Ruffâ€. She sung in her school choir and was selected for a musical competition. After graduating, She joined a group called, “Sweet and Sticky Band†in the late 70’s, singing all over Kansas City. Afterwards, God began to see an anointed divine purpose and started using Toi, singing in churches, choirs, gospel groups at a tender young age./n/Toi, is no newcomer, in July 1995-2001, she began her journey as God directed her path, participated in a talent search of Kansas City Dream Girls based on the Broadway Musical held by the renowned Starlight Theater & won along with two other ladies, singing among thousands of people at large venues, representing Kansas City, performing the National Anthem at the Royals Stadium, singing other genres of music at the Governors Conference Tourism in Jefferson City, MO, Missouri State Fair in Sedalia, MO, Kansas City Parks & Recreation Tour, Municipal Auditorium, Music Hall, Memorial Music Hall and other distinguished functions throughout the State of Missouri. Opportunities became overflowing, she and two other ladies opened up for numerous National Artists such as The Dramatics, Aaron Hall, Shirley Murdock, Tina Marie, The Gap Band, Roger Troutman and Zapp, and traveling to Detroit, MI sharing the stage with The Floaters./n/As time moved on, Toi, never stopped singing Gospel and God had another plan for her life. God had spoken a word that had completely transformed and done a new thing in Toi’s life. She made a vow to God and her father to never stop singing for Jesus./n/She continued walking in faith, experiencing her trials and tribulations. God saw her working diligently, steadfast and being unmovable. The enemy tried to stop her with a life threatening car accident with her 2 children. After facing this tramatic incident, undergoing 5 surgeries, 2 major skin graphs, 1 muscle transplant with plates and pens, GOD PERFORMED A MIRACLE AND SPOKE, “YOU HAVE WORK TO DOâ€. God began to pour out favor on her life. She played a part, Aunt Ida, in the gospel play (Between Me And God, Secrets Of A Mother) at the 18th Vine, GEM Theatre. She became a 3-year registered National choir member of Auxiliaries In Ministry (AIM-COGIC), who has traveled to various conventions being under the musical directors of several National Gospel Recording Artists know as Karen Clark Sheard, Dorinda Clark Cole, Kim Burrell, Timothy Wright, Betty Nelson, the late Missionary Donna Ward and many others./n/Toi, serves as member of the Kansas City Chapter, Legendary James Cleveland Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA), and serves as an assistant on the local GMWA Executive Board (former President, Delores Allen, current President, Pastor Lady Barbara Herdnon). She volunteers her entrepreneur services and gives her music ministry support to the Kansas City Chapter Gospel Announcers Guild (MOGAG). She participated in the Talent Showcase Showdown-Kansas City International (KCI), showcasing her talent at the Folly Theater in the Gospel Division and doing television commercials for this event./n/Toi, was apart of Building God’s Kingdom (BGK) Ministries, demonstrating her vocal abilities in the presence of the President of Gospel Announcers Guild of Jacksonville, MI. She also, performed at the Louis B. Parker Scholarship Foundation Benefit Concert and embracing Tracy Artis,(formerly from Gospel Centric Record Label) at BGK Showcase event./n/Toi, was apart of a group, who opened up for Tonex in 2002, at the Ujaama event in Kansas City. In 2003, she ministered in song at the “Exterminator Conference†in the live recording at New Landmark Church Non-Denominational, Inc. In 2004, Toi, continuing being faithful to God, as he opened another door, using her sultry vocals to backup National Gospel Recording Artist Lacresha Campbell. She came across with her astonishing vocals, singing lead in Reach Ministries at the Sisters in Praise live recording.
