After a life of ups, downs, and drama at every turn, it isn't surprising that the music of Omikron touches a chord with all who hear it. From being beat up weekly on his way to or from school and having guns aimed at him from the residence across from his childhood home, all the way up to his mother being shot at and left with no assistance from police, it’s easy to see where Omikron’s no nonsense, yet intelligent and sometimes soul searching, war-anthem type sound comes from.Raised in New Jersey, the hip-hop culture surrounded Omikron right from the start. With his ear glued to the radio, and with a head full of ideas, he began writing from experience and inspiration at an early age. Due to Kron's knack for finding trouble at that time, he was often confined in his room, under punishment, leaving plenty of time to explore his own methods of making music. By age 13 he had recorded three low-quality tapes with little to no help at all.Over the years Omikron continued to experiment and expand his sound. In 2003 he collaborated with Trenton artist Calaber, recording and producing a full length LP titled “No More Gamesâ€. The album was released locally under Omikron's company Dragonfire Productions, and had surprising success for an indie release with zero press. After "No More Games" the two formed the group Loose Cannons with other area emcees, including future CY member, and longtime friend, Ubsurd. Soon, a Loose Cannons mix tape was released under Calaber's company Crook’d Youth Entertainment in 2005 and did very well on the streets. The tape featured many tracks produced and/or featuring Omikron. At about the same time the mix tape hit the streets, he re-invented his own Dragonfire Productions, and formed Dragonfire Entertainment.Under Dragonfire Entertainment, Omikron has recorded, produced, and released two solo albums. “The Storm of the Dragon†(2006), and “Burn the Streets†(2007). Omikron still continues to work as a producer. His production is recognized by all who hear it as unique, and definitely the next step in the hip-hop movement. Take that and combine it with his witty, and sometimes boldly political lyrical imagery, it is clear that Omikron is determined to be a force in hip-hop, and stick around for a good long time.
