A handcranked transistor radio is spreading propagranda over the air waves of the world. At the same time, satellites left out in space from the former USSR are transmitting those signals deep into the universe in hopes of starting universal mass hysteria.
Oh way, away from this affray!
Down here by the fireside,
Where we drink and dance and celebrate.
But, for what?
No memory for this joyous time,
No recollection at all for this wine,
Were we or have we ever been before,
A vagabond of history?
A derelict amongst searching in this age?
We are, but simple people in complex times,
Merely finding strength to survive,
And to be forever, in a way.
Imagine standing outside yourself and the earth. Imagine you can watch it as it is aimlessly spinning and drifting furthur into space. There is nothing like trying to see a future that isn't there. Sitting alone in your room, looking out into outer space. Drifting and falling, turning and tumbling through the vastness that is the universe. Watching time drift by aeon by aeon. Your mind gives away to all logic and reality and you can see creatures staring up at you, like a face in deep. Then the aeon stops and becomes a moment and scares the sanity right out of you. There is nothing like a moment making you feel like it lasted forever. Time is a dangerous thing. Do not meddle with the affairs of the universe.

If only time could just stop for a little while. We could, perhaps, indulge in a nice cup of tea and talk about the future. Really, I do not think it has much time at all for me, nowdays. I'm drifting further from the path I thought I should take on and even farther from the path I think I should be on.
But, I find myself always sitting at the wayside looking away, like a color photograph of myself staring at a black and white memory.
I really wish I could breath when I'm gazing off into the sun's decline into the night sky. I can't help but wonder what it's like to be someone else who is always laughing and smiling with their lot and their like. Then, I look back at myself and think, how I am quite glad that I am not one in that crowd.
There is no peace for me...
