Double Praise formerly The Edwards Twins born and raised in their hometown of Philadelphia, PA. They were educated in the Philadelphia school system. Their musical abilities were recognized as early as Elementary School. They were awarded the opportunity to perform at the Robin Hood Dell East for their eighth grade graduation. They are alumni of The Creative & Performing Arts High School. The twins represented their school at different political, religious and secular venues. Through all of this they never compromised their song or style.
Double Praise (Sanya & Tanya) has had the pleasure of being featured as special guest soloist on the Live Recording of the Youth & Young Adult Choir of the G.M.W.A. (1997) in Pittsburgh, PA. This experience gave them the opportunity to meet Kirk Franklin, Brent Jones, Bryon Cage just to name a few. They have ministered at several renowned churches in the Delaware Valley, including Sharon Baptist Church, Deliverance Evangelistic Church, Mt.Airy C.O.G.I.C., Bethany Baptist Church (Abundant Harvest) and many more.
They have shared the stage with artists such as Pastor Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir, Angie Stone, Tye Tribbett, Boyz To Men. They also opened for Vickie Winans at the main stage of Sistahs sponsored by Power 99 F.M.
Some of their noted events include Inauguration Celebration for Governor Rendell at the academy of music, Praise in the Park sponsored by the Philadelphia Tribune Newspaper. They were the opening act at the Robin Hood Dell East featured with The Winans, The Clark Sisters and Tri State Mass Choir, The Judgment Play with Pastor Timothy Wright, Pastor Barbara Ward-Farmer and Pastor Bruce Parham, Inquirer Night Out sponsored by the Sunoco Welcome America, and a prayer breakfast for Congressman Chakkah Fattah.
