ee spent his childhood in the borough of Manhattan. The lower east side of Manhattan next the east river to be exact. The son of a musician (guitarist) and gospel singer you could say that he bathed in the music of black America. His family has several gospel groups which perform regularly in churches, and concert halls across America.It is at age of fifteen that Rafee really discovered the pleasure of singing and especially for others. Parallel to his music career, he has performed in several television spots.
One of those spots in particular was for Levi’s 501 blue jeans. He also worked as a runway model for Jean Paul Gaultier and has bee travelling ever since.After travelling through Europe, Rafee discovered France and its habitants. He stayed a while in Paris, London, Brussels, and put body and soul into his music.
During this time, he made wonderful and interesting encounters which enabled him to express various musical styles. In Belgium and in France, he sang as a background singer for different artists in studio sessions. He co-composed on several albums for Sony Universal, France.His charismatic stage presence and vocal flexibility has landed him various contacts with production and record labels to work on various projects. One of those contacts (Byte records in Belgium) enabled him to perform an underground hit recording reaching n°4 on the dance charts in America, just under Madonna’s ‘Mr DJ’. The track was signed in Spain and made n°1 in Mexico. The track’s title ‘Who Am I†was written and produced by R. Mc Camery and Johan Betrimeux.Today, Rafee lives in France, he writes, and produces as an independent producer but also for MEDINA SOUNDZ. Medina Soundz is an indie production label situated in the north of France created by David Delepierre and Rafee McCamery producing international artists as well as French artists. The two have produced a crunk r&b album or (electro-r&b) titled ‘you make me’ for their group « BLACK TONEZ ». www.medinasoundz.com www.soulofart.info www.myspace.com/blacktonezRafee is currently finishing his own personal album titled Rafee McCamery « Love Stories » and has also colaborated with the new trip-hop group OTHER REALITIES. The songs were written for the group's album. During this time the group toured all of Italy, the south of france, and La Corse. This musical venture was definitely one of the most profound musical moments he has ever experienced.Rafee is also the charismatic leader of the gospel group, "GOSPEL UNITED" situated in the north of france. The group performes regularly, in churches, and halls from lille France to Belgium, to Lyon and the south of France…...standing room only !A real workaholic but Rafee doesn’t stop there……he has also just produced two albums « Rafee McCamery & All God’s Children (acoustic album, world and inpirational music ) titled : "I Still Believe"
and the otherRAGAEE titled: "The Mystic" (a studio album) of which he is artistic director.
The album "ALL GOD'S CHILDREN" containing 100 PERCENTt LIVE MUSIC and consist of a talented MULTI-CULTURAL group of singers, and musicians coming from NORTH, WEST, AND CENTRAL AFRICA as well as EUROPE. Through R&B, SOUL, GOSPEL, POP, RAP, AFRICAN RYTHMS, ARABIAN, and INDIAN VIBRATIONS + ACAPPELA, the album explores the every day ups, and downs of the human condition. It is "WORLD MUSIC" with spiritual heart warming themes of love, life, joy, and saddness.His relation with music goes far beyond the glitter, and often superficial business of the industry. It is the universal message. It is about the joys, and the pains of living, the extasy that being connected brings, the comfort of knowing we are not alone… and above all… the meeting of souls without judgement… just sharing life’s experiences and realities while we are all here together on this earthly plain. It is an affair of the heart and soul !
