I lived in Boston for a long long time. Then I moved to Austin to go to library school, and I have no plans to leave this place.As a kid I resented, with all of my being, the fact that I was born into the post-electrification world. Lady Jane Grey and Laura Ingalls Wilder were my heroes, and anything or anybody that came after them was totally irrelevant. Like many television relationships, my adversary eventually became the object of my affection. I started to fall in love with electricity, in the form of new wave and techno and industrial music, and video games; the romance continues to this day and now I'm a digital video archivist and librarian.
