In the first episode, Buffy becomes friends with Willow Rosenberg. Willow is a computer nerd and she isn't afraid to admit it. She was raised Jewish, as the only child of Ira and Sheila Rosenberg. Willow has always been quite detached from her parents. So detached, in fact, that her mother tried to set her on fire, paying homage to those brave souls in Salem, Massachusetts circa 1692. Since childhood, Willow had a crush on her best friend, Xander, but he was always oblivious to this information.(Did he need to be hit over the head?) In high school, Willow was the shy, quiet type whose intelligence and expertise at hacking made her an important part of Buffy's Scooby Gang . Early in her friendship with the Slayer, Willow was more than content to play sidekick. During the third season, Xander and Willow realised their feelings for each other and began cheating on their respective partners, but the intensity of their pairing burned out quickly. . Willow rebuilt her relationship with Oz, one of the coolest guys in town. Oz was a guitar player in the band "Dingoes Ate My Baby" and also a werewolf. They finally took a big step and slept together before their high school graduation. Along with her friends, Willow survived, and was very eager to begin college with Oz and Buffy at Sunnydale University. Things began well, but after some time, Willow's relationship with Oz began to deteriorate. Another woman, Veruca, who was also a werewolf destroyed the sweet couples relationship and sent Oz on a trip to discover himself and the wolf within. While Oz was away, Willow began a friendship with a fellow Wiccan, Tara. The two practiced spells together and gradually built a relationship that was based on more than just friendship. Upon Oz's return, Willow made the decision that she wanted to pursue her relationship with Tara instead of going back to Oz. Willow realised the depth of her love for Tara, and remained devoted even after Tara's brain was temporarily scrambled by Hellgod Glory. Things were looking good for Willow until she began to bacome addicted to magic. Her relationship with Tara fell apart when she cast a forgetting spell on her lover to mask her unhealthy dependence, and the breakup sent Willow even further into an exploration of all things dark forces. It wasn't until Willow took Buffy's sister Dawn out and ended up in a car wreck that Willow realised the damage she was doing to both herself and friends. She quit cold turkey, and eventually patched things up with Tara. Their tender reunion was cut violently short when Tara was murdered by Warren, head honcho of the Evil Trio. Enraged, Willow returned to magic and went on a vicious hunt for revenge. After murdering Warren in cold blood, Willow fought Buffy and set out to destroy the world, but Xander's friendship and love brought her to her senses just in time . ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! * * * * * *
