A name that translates to mean “life” in Swahili, it’s no wonder that Aisha Savage. has made it her mission to impart life to others through her music. From the little town of Bessemer, Alabama, Aisha launched her singing career at the age of eight when church members acknowledged her amazing ability to usher in the presence of God.In 1996, she created a singing group called V.O.P. (Voices of Praise), which received phenomenal local reviews. It was Aisha’s love for singing that led her to attend Stillman College on a choral scholarship. During this period of her life, she developed her talent by accepting the lead role in “Ragtime” and performing alongside established performers such as Christopher “Play” Martin, Rerun, Erick Matthews, Drea Randall, Genesis Youth choir of Mt. Canaan Full Gospel, and Save the Youth Community Choir. However, it was traveling as a member of Emtro’s Gospel recording group, L. Spencer Smith and Testament, that resurrected her passion for writing and singing her own music. Knowing that her purpose was greater than teaching 9th grade English, Aisha, along with her husband, Thomas, embarked on a serious commitment to her singing career. Life Music, Aisha’s first EP is guaranteed to touch the hearts of everyday people and uplift those of Christian faith. Contemporary with a soulful, jazz influence, the single “Stop Complaining” is evidence of her belief that God will aid anyone in their time of need. “No More” provides a radical rock sound, yet powerful message as Aisha declares that she’s fed up with society’s twisted views that indoctrinate our youth. Today, Aisha’s worship experience enlightens audiences with the knowledge of knowing life is in the power of the tongue. “Each show is not used as a form of showboating, but as a vessel to touch people with music, not of the traditional sound, but of a spiritual message,” says Aisha. Life Music will be independently released for promotion in the upcoming year.
