I'd like to have met Duane Allman. I just love a quote by Bill Thames, who was a friend to Duane; "Contemporary music is like drinking tap water; you don't know how bad it's gotten until someone gives you a taste of something different". It was 1970, I was a rebellious 16 years old and I got a taste of something different!***************************************** ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ **************** I never got to see Duane play and I've always felt a sense of loss about that because he was my inspiration for learning to play lead guitar. I really have to say that the Eat A Peach album changed the direction of my music forever. Thanks Duane! A man whom I believe was also inspired by Duane Allman is Jack Pearson. Jack Pearson makes me want to be a better player and a better man. Jack is not afraid to stand up for his beliefs and his playing and singing are from the heart. With so many incredible guitar players in the world, many that are personal heroes, some that are personal friends, it's difficult for me to say who's the best. Since taste in music is such a subjective matter, I'll just say that Jack's playing speaks to me like nobody elses and leave it at that.
