About Me

I am a 6th grade language arts teacher in Tucson, AZ. This is my 34th year teaching, and I still love what I do and the subject matter I teach. I am the mother of three sons, and the proud grandmother of two beautiful girls.

My Interests

My boys. My grand-babies. Football. Traveling. Reading. Music. Jazzercise. Making dinner for the boys.

I'd like to meet:

My soul mate. John Elway. JK Rowling. Sidney Sheldon. Someone to fund Jared's company before he goes bankrupt. An Arizona Governor who will raise teacher pay two-fold. All of the teachers who let my boys do 'just enough' to get by academically. Someone from my generation that doesn't see race, gender and socio-economic status before seeing that there is a soul. (Written by my oldest who set up this account for me to move me into the 21st. century.)

Music:

Contact me! I'll make you a copy of "Anatomy of a Divorce"; a compilation CD I have put together :)It's finished! It's been in the works since October. I feel it takes the listener through the stages of grief, which is what divorce really is about.

Movies:

Romantic comedies. Enough drama in my own life:)

Television:

Denver Broncos' games, AZ Wildcat hoops, Grey's Anatomy, Bones, House, and Idol.

Books:

Gone With the Wind, The Thorn Birds, or whichever favorite I'm currently reading. Right now it's The Book Thief, narrated by death.

Heroes:

Jesus. JFK. Martin Luther. Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Teresa, Gerald Ford, John Elway

Treasures From the Sea

My sister and I traveled to the ocean's edge today.  I believe the pounding surf dwells in us for eternity.  The waves were huge.  The tide was high.  The sun was warm...a slice of...

A comparison of war and education-by death

I'm reading the book, "The Book Thief".  It is narrated by death.  (Young adult novels have amazing writers these days-this one is Markus Zusak from Australia.) This is the passage that...

Anatomy of a Divorce

It is finished!  This was a project I started back in October while listening to the song, "Grace" from the Grey's Anatomy Soundtrack-Season 2.  If I had not been driving while listening to ...

Field Trip to the Ocean

We took 64 sixth graders to the ocean's edge for some "dry" beach time.  Possible?  No, of course not.  For one thing, these are kids from the desert.  They don't understand the fl...

"Circle of Friends"

In June, my "circle of friends" from high school will gather together for the 4th time.  We started this tradition the year we all turned 50.  I invited them to come to Tucson for an extende...
