Benjamin O'Brien

I am 34 years of age and have been drumming since 1990, having 5 years of formal lessons including Advanced Funk Studies.Born in the UK i moved with my family in 1976 to live in Adelaide, where i resided until moving to Melbourne in 2003, driving over with my drumkit and clothes to set up my life in this wonderful city.
Music has always been my passion, and i am not tied to one particular style, so be it funk, jazz, rock or blues, my rhythm will be there.
I have been playing in various bands since 1994, including: Zoo2 - U2 cover band (1994) Sway - pop originals (1996) Furgus - instrumental irish/african (1996-1997) Static - hard rock/pop (1998) piraformus - hard rock (1999-2001) Fern Black - female solo vocalist - pop (2001-2002) Benny & the Jets - funk/jazz (2002) Loaded - rock (2003 - 2004) Jessica Paige - female solo artist (2004) 28th Mansion - Nu-metal (2005-2006)
Apart from drumming, i also like acting - i am a qualified actor but haven't done anything major. In fact, i haven't done anything acting wise since about 2003! Concentrating more on music!
Also enjoy movies - thrillers, action, and arthouse types- and some older TV series like Northern Exposure and Red Dwarf to name but two.
