On pan he has visited corners of the globe as a guest artist on steel drums. This includes performing in Europe, Asia, and across the USA. In LA he has recorded with Sting, Ludacris, Lalo Shifrin, Simon Phillips, Will Kennedy, Abe Laboriel, Brian Bromberg, Malcolm in the Middle, American Idol, Better Homes and Gardens, etc....... As a guest artist he has performance and recording guest spots with steel bands (U of Arizona,App State,SPL,LB Poly, U of Montana, Central College, others) As a recording artist he has CDs with Boogsie Sharpe, Robert Greenidge, and of course John Christopher..........BUT WHO???...... A love affair serious hobby for Chris Wabich, a known drum set artist from Los Angeles. Pan gets him in quite a lot of trouble when the jazz world is not paying attention... To get to the core of how this happened is simple..........This fantastic instrument, pan, could not be ignored once heard. Chris learned to make and play all of the steel drum voices, and the drums you hear on this page (including boogsie's) are constructed and tuned by him.Chris has the distinction as being the first pan solo artist to headline the national theater in taiwan, and the first to combine the pan on stage with the ney (turkish flute) with sufi artist, Omar Faruk. he is also obviously influenced by the other music he loves and is involved with as a drum kit artist, which does include the OLD calypso sound......... recordings forthcoming include a Boogsie compilation, and Chris' trio. some of the snocap tracks here are not downloadable elsewhere, so in order to dub and pirate them to friends across the planet, you know what to do first @*_*@
