ABOUT: Elaine Benavides. Singer/ Musical style has encompassed a broad range, including dark ethereal ambient, voiceless industrial soundscapes, and electronic pop music. Elements of ethnic "Enigmatic Music. features music with similar atmospherics, while featuring female vocals, with different singers and instrumentalists.Traditionally been a two-person project, but the only constant vocal member throughout its history has been Elaine Benavides. Kris Pierce the composer and Elaine the producer of the project. Elaine often provides voice on tracks. A digital audio workstation used as a recording studio and to include non-percussion musical instrumentation, with live dancers. Specialties: Studied at Juilliard School /Music technology.. Knowledge Music production, mixing, composition, arrangements and producing tracks in digital, analog, and MIDI environments. Composing music independently for large venues in NYC, for dance companies, working with major producers such as Ed Bennett--VH1 co-creator. Elaine indigenous Apache, Comanche, Lakota Productions performer. Musician.Collaboration with: Haunted Echo is the solo project from New York's producer/programmer, Kris "Halo" Pierce, who creates tracks with rich atmospheric textures and aural landscapes that are often described as "movie music."
Haunted Echo first reared his head on the Cleopatra Records compilation, Black Sunshine: The Tampa Underground and Beyond, in 2001, which included not only three Haunted Echo tracks, but also included three tracks from Kris previous project Mind Static, with vocalist Wendi Hughes.
Mind Static had been extremely successful during the Kris/Wendi years (1997-2001), with the Bjork/Danny Elfman influenced darkwave hit, Stillborn, and the epic trance piece, Nothing, which landed in the indie movie Web of Darkness. Frustrated with the confines of the genre, he followed up with a limited self-released album, Weaving A Liquid Dream, which detoured from the moodiness and carried a lighter, more dance oriented feel. From that album, the tracks Conscience Sedation and Weaving A Liquid Dream won huge internet support and landed in the Canadian indie film, Hosers.
With his remix of the Watch The Men Fall track, A New Suicide, and the inclusion of both WTMF and HE material on the Bands United compilation, Kris became an internationally recognized producer. Two years later, his remix of Kelis Milkshake won support from UltimateKelis.com, as well as garnering over 20,000 downloads in six months. Tired of the Floridian scene, he packed up his bags and moved to New York City (after detouring to Arizona for eight months to record his latest album, Klopfgeist, this time featuring four tunes with Kris on the mic). Klopfgeist shows Kris returning to his darker music roots on the vocal tracks, while the instrumentals foray into lounge and chillout.
