In more than 30 years professional experience in the Entertainment Business,Zen has compiled quite a list of accomplisments. He has worked night clubs,resort casinos and major hotels around the country. He has been a recordingartist, a songwriter and studio musician as well. Zen performed on KCKC radioin Southern California weekly for more than three years with "The Sound Company"live at the Brandin' Iron. The band was nominated nine consecutive years for theAcademy of Country Music's best Non-Touring Band. Zen has appeared ontelevision in many states including NBC's Sunday Show broadcast in SouthernCalifornia.His recording accomplishments are just as impressive. He has recorded withJoe Maphis, Merle Travis, Granpa Jones, Thom Bresh, Buddy Spicher, TommyAlsup, Big Tiny Little, and Nokie Edwards of the Ventures to name a few.Zen has been on two recordings that were nominated for Grammy's; the firstin 1982 as a guest artist with Joe Maphis "Flat Pickin' Spectacular" and the mostcurrent last year by his friend Tim Ponzek, "The Whole Enchilada". He has performedor shared the stage with Ricky Nelson, Willie Nelson, Roy Orbison, Kenny Rodgers,Roy Rodgers and the Sons of the Pioneers, Lee Greenwood, David Frizell, Jack Imeland Dick Dale of the Welk Show, Mel Tillis, Moe Bandy, Emmy Lou Harris, DocWatson, Doug Kershaw, The Dukes of Dixieland, Donna Fargo, T.G. Shepard,Buck Owens, Verne Gosdin, Dick Contino, The Platters, The Trniers, Leroy TroyBoswell, and the list goes on.Zen is at home in several musical "genres", jazz, swing, western swing, standards,country and bluegrass. He is proficent on piano/keyboards, fiddle, and fivestring banjo, and sings all but the highest vocal parts. As a solo perfomer orin a group, Zen is a musical asset wherever he performs.
