We live by a simple set of rules and guidelines. They give us a foundation to help keep us all on the same page and to hopefully prevent any possible hurt feelings. (i.e. Relax, Relate, Release…)
Nothing is written in stone with us. So every member of Clan MacDaddy can feel free to contribute to the greater good.
RULES
-
What happens at Faire stays at Faire and vice-versa.
Remember to keep fantasy and reality separate as needed. Promises made in
“CHARACTER†do not necessarily apply to the outside world and vice-versa.
-
No Drama
This is a voluntary activity. If it stops being fun, either make it fun
again or stop doing it for as long as you wish.
-
Be good to each other.
Clan MacDaddy is a Scottish Clan. As such,
we are a form of an extended family. As a
family we’re all not expected to get along at all times. Please be polite to
one another in public. Settle differences in an adult fashion. There is
always room for those that are not hurtful or harmful. (Or we will take away
your flask and send you to your room without ale!)
-
Repeat 1-3 as necessary.
GUIDELINES:
-
Be
mindful when you’re recognized as a MacDaddy. The general rule is to have fun
and not “jack it up†for everyone else.
-
Events and Faire:
As a MacDaddy you are obligated to the rules and guidelines of your host, guild, or booth owner. Please be respectful and follow the rules of your host even if you don’t agree with their rules. It’s their area or event, you are there by invitation and obligated to their rules. Be a gracious and respectful guest.
-
There are no mandatory meetings. Those who choose not to attend are subject to
the following: volunteering, gossip, speculation, and random
rumors.
NOTE: (Random rumors free of charge. Specific rumors, fees vary)
NEW MEMBERS:
-
Clan
MacDaddy does not actively recruit.
Any
active Clan member may sponsor a potential Clan candidate.
Those that wish to be part of the clan are welcome to make their request.
New
members are welcomed into the clan by a majority vote from the five *founding
members.
Those who vote “Nay†will share the news with the member they have nayed and
their reasons, whether the pending member has been accepted or not.
Anyone declined acceptance to the clan will have the opportunity to request
again at any time.
All
new members are responsible for the purchase of the clan tartan, be it kilt,
sash, or the like. Costs of Clan and Tartan items will be public knowledge and
are subject to market prices. Clan members should try to make themselves
available for kilt cutting when possible.
DRESS:
-
Clan
MacDaddy represents a Scottish Clan. As such, the main dress of the day is
period Scottish Garb. (i.e. lads in kilts and Lasses in sashes).
EXCEPTION: When working an event and the Clan garb would interfere or hinder performance.
-
By
no means is the clan period perfect, but expect anything if you’re sporting a
“mini-kilt†or something is seriously not right.
Clan
MacDaddy has only one official Tartan.
Current official Clan MacDaddy pin(s): “DIBSâ€.
DISCIPLINARY ACTION :
-
Don’t even want to go here. We all do this for the fun of it. If all Clan
members follow the above guidelines we should all have fun. If not we’re going
to have a little chat…
