Back in 1990, four guys got together in the attic of an old Victorian home in Elizabeth, NJ. Unfortunately, that house is gone now, but the band's spirit remains strong! Determined to play classic rock tunes their way, World Within set off on a course, and what a course it was! Their style and improvisation got them far and the Grateful Dead tunes they played so dearly, lead to their specialty, Dead/Jam-Rock! (Not to mention, Dylan, the Band, Little Feat, Bob Marley, the Eagles, Stones and newer Alternative Jam tunes as well!) The band has opened for the likes of the Spin Doctors, the Marshall Tucker Band, Jefferson Airplane, New Riders of the Purple Sage and Hot Tuna! A 3 week tour with original Grateful Dead keyboard player, Tom Constanten, or "TC" as he is known, developed when TC saw the band at the Roosevelt Hotel in NYC while the band was promoting their original release "IN THE BEGINNING". TC was so moved by the spirit and effortlessness of World Within's style, he insisted on "sitting in" with the guys at that show, and soon after, was sharing the stage with them on a 3 week, 3 state tour! Very Cool! The band has not given up their spirit, desire to jam and need to improvise musically with eachother, and is continuing to play the NJ/NY area on a consistent basis! No 2 shows are EVER alike, and with 17 years under their belts, you never know what you're going to hear at a WORLD WITHIN show! Don't miss these guys!
